Just back! Goofy & Max swimming in EPCOT lake (pics)

Just back from 5 great days in the world! We were at EPCOT on Saturday and we stopped to take a break at a smoking area near the front of the lake. We saw a little speedboat zipping towards us. It was Goofy & Max! Along the shoreline were two beach chairs, an umbrella and towels. Max & Goofy got out of the boat and started batting a beach ball around. Not long after that, they started splashing around and swimming in the lake! It was so much fun to see! They did come up to the railing and visit with guests briefly, but I guess they got too hot and headed back into the water! There was a second boat with two people following them around (lifeguards I'm guessing). I've never seen anything like it and it was so neat! I'm going to attempt to post pics.

GREAT PIX, i love that!!!! one year at the floridian i swam with goofy and donald on the 4th, it was one of my all time fave disney moments. i also remember back in the days when u could swim in bay lake when characters would water ski, i think it was smee and pinocchio. i miss that!

Great pics & story - thanks for sharing! My hubby was at Fort Wilderness when he was younger & saw Goofy waterski right up onto the beach next to him! It's one of his favorite memories.

very very cool. I've never seen any thing like that with the characters. I always thought it was just the "stand in line" interaction with the characters outside of the character meals. How exciting. I will definitely be looking for this type of thing in October!

You know I once read that celebrities who want to go in the parks, without being bothered would dress as a character.
It always made me wonder.
Probably not the meet and greets though.
Who knows when you think you are hugging pooh, you might actually be hugging Brad Pit!.....or for you Men Anjelina Jolie!
