We just came back after spending a great week at the WL. This was our first time at a deluxe resort and it was amazing. The WL lobby is something not to be missed. I loved just sitting on one of the comfortable chairs and staring up at the details.
We booked a standard room and when we got there there weren't any upgrades available. The place was totally booked. But the room was great and the view not too bad. If we looked down we saw the loading area behind Artist Point but we had a perfect view of the fireworks at MK. The kids loved sitting on the bed and watching them before going to sleep.
But after 2 nights my DH couldn't stand the noise of the trucks that came by at 3:30 am. He asked at the lobby if there was another quieter standard room we could be moved to and they upgraded us to a Woods View. We lost the fireworks view but got a very peaceful view of the lake
The WCC was fun! We didn't try Artist Point. Roaring Forks was just OK. We're used to bigger food courts at the moderates.
The pool was a hit. I thought the slide wouldn't be fun enough for DS12 but the kids never complained (except when I told them it was time to get out of the pool).
The boat to MK was a nice bonus but we usually took the bus because it was just a 5 minute trip from MK to WL. From WL to MK it took longer because it would stop at the Grand Floridian first. The bus service to the other parks was fine. Buses usually came every 15 minutes or less.
We had towel animals almost every night. One night they set up my DD's stuffed animals so they were reading books. Very cute!
After a full week we were ready to come home but the kids want to go back to WL next year! I guess I better start saving now.
