Just back from Wilderness Lodge

We just came back after spending a great week at the WL. This was our first time at a deluxe resort and it was amazing. The WL lobby is something not to be missed. I loved just sitting on one of the comfortable chairs and staring up at the details.

We booked a standard room and when we got there there weren't any upgrades available. The place was totally booked. But the room was great and the view not too bad. If we looked down we saw the loading area behind Artist Point but we had a perfect view of the fireworks at MK. The kids loved sitting on the bed and watching them before going to sleep.

But after 2 nights my DH couldn't stand the noise of the trucks that came by at 3:30 am. He asked at the lobby if there was another quieter standard room we could be moved to and they upgraded us to a Woods View. We lost the fireworks view but got a very peaceful view of the lake

The WCC was fun! We didn't try Artist Point. Roaring Forks was just OK. We're used to bigger food courts at the moderates.

The pool was a hit. I thought the slide wouldn't be fun enough for DS12 but the kids never complained (except when I told them it was time to get out of the pool).

The boat to MK was a nice bonus but we usually took the bus because it was just a 5 minute trip from MK to WL. From WL to MK it took longer because it would stop at the Grand Floridian first. The bus service to the other parks was fine. Buses usually came every 15 minutes or less.

We had towel animals almost every night. One night they set up my DD's stuffed animals so they were reading books. Very cute!

After a full week we were ready to come home but the kids want to go back to WL next year! I guess I better start saving now.

Glad you had a great time, WL is high on our list of where to stay next visit so I appreciate your input!

Thanks for the info. Was it faster then to take the boat to MK since the bus stopped at GF? Does the boat go from WL right to MK or does it also stop at another resort first? Thank you.

Glad you had a nice time. Your report reminded me of how wonderful WL really is. I miss it!

Glad you enjoyed the WL. I have never done a standard room but did enjoy woods view on two occasions. Very peaceful. The WL is a great place to stay. I always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

I thought the bus went directly to MK.

Great review. It's good they were able to accomodate your request to move rooms.

The bus from WL to MK would stop at the Grand Floridian but it was still a lot faster than the boat. Once it stopped at the Contemporay instead of the Grand Floridian.

From MK to WL it was a direct bus ride and it took 5 minutes (I timed it).

Even though the boat ride is longer it's really relaxing. We did that twice.
