Just back from western cruise!!!!

Just got back from the most wonderful vacation ever!!!! Ill be happy to answer any questions for you. I did the stingray tour in Grand Cayman and Snorkeling in the national park in cozomel, and parasailing in castaway cay. SO MUCH FUN!!

Only complaint is we had a extremely noisy room in cat. 8 Room number 8558! If you have it change it!!!!!!!!!! They moved us. We got no sleep the first night of the cruise! Its right below the pool and the ping pong tables! all you hear is jumping around and running! We were moved to 8512 and had no problems. Very quiet.

The castmembers we so great!!! After that 7 days its so hard to leave some of them. They become just like family!

The Weather was perfect. In the high 90's everyday, no rain and sunny everyday in every port and at sea!

ok im going to try to answer all with one post..lol hehe ok im going to start with the top post.

Well in key west we didnt do any excursions. We just walked around and looked in the shops. It was so hot that we didnt stay real long. We went back to the ship around 5 or so. Oh i did forget we did go to the marina. Its 8 dollars if you show your ID from the ship. Its normally around 10 i think. However the marina is very small and very crowded. I dont recommend it, there are so many people you really dont see the presentations. There is one tank that you can pick up a few things in though. That was fun.


Ok we did just the stinkray snorkel tour. When you get off the ship you walk a short distance where get into a bus taxi. From there its about a 10 minute ride to the boat. From there they give you directions give you your gear and the boat ride is about 45 minutes. We did the 7 45 tour so there were not that many boats there yet. You get to feed the rays if you want. If you do get ready to have them ALL AROUND YOU!!!!!!!! It was great!. They do take your pictures. I got to hold one. They also have some t shirts on the boat to you can buy. This was our favorite thing to do on the vacation.

Ok now onto cozomel. The national park toru was fun. My family was all adults, 4 of us. But there were tons of children on the tour. However alot of the prople found the tour to be unorganized and much of the time being wasted. You are only in the water for about 45 min to an hour. The tour guide is ourside the ship. You than walk about a mile to the taxi area where it takes your family to the park where you have to wait for everyone to get there. If you want a wild and wacky taxi ride WAIT TO DO THIS ONE!!! HEHE we waited an extra half an hour for everyone. After everyone got there she talks and talkes some more, and finally we get to the beach where we got our gear. There are lockers there if you are worried about your things. They are 2.50 for all day. After about another 15 minutes of them showing you how to put your gear on, you get to get in the water. This is not a do as you please tour. There is a guide that you have to follow. We were in about 30-50 feet of water most of the time. There were many kids but most either got out early of did not go in. They got very tired. This is a great site for snorkeling. lots to see. After the hour was up, we got changed and went back to the taxi where they drop you off at the pier. We went shopping for a few hours than. This is a PARTY city. at dinner that night there were not to many people at dinner and the next morning most people slept in because of being hung over!! lol

Ok now onto the movies onboard!

Signs, Country Bears, Reign of fire, lord of the rings, monsters inc, lilo and stitch, spy kids, spy kids 2, and the rookie.

They were not offering the internet package. It says in the navigator that its .75 a minute. Didnt see to many people using it.



Oh I did want to let everyone know that the cruise prices went up quite a bit for next year. For the same vacation next august, its 2000 more than this year! WHAT A BUMMER!!!!!!!!!

I got this one for DH, me and my 2 kids for $2600 (now we are in a Cat. 11 room, but still....).

Just wondering if they will have this on our cruise next week. It sure would be nice. That 'pop' charge is the one thing that really annoys me about the cruise. Pop doesn't cost much at all, there is no reason to charge extra for that. If there is juice and lemonade, at least my kids will be happy!

Yes I did see lemonade a few times. THey were making it fresh squeezed on deck 10 close to the basketball court. Youll have to ask to see where the location is on your cruise. I didnt try any though, they were just setting it up when i was there and i forgot to go back It looked very good though!!

DJ - I'm a Coke-aholic and must have caffeine to be reasonably friendly....so my husband & I try to have breakfast (yes, cola w/breakfast for me!!), lunch and dinner in the sit-down restaurants, so we (okay, me) can have all the cola I can drink.

If you were doing the park again in Cozumel - would you go through the ship or would you feel comfortable doing a taxi on your own. We love to snorkel, but hate to be herded! But a little nervous about taking off on our own.

I just went to the DCL web site and got a quote of $2800 for a cat 6 for 2 people for the same week next year. That is about the same as we paid for next week's cruise.

yes i did parasailing with my friend. you can go together but its 70 a person. it says you cant weigh over 300 together or going single you must weigh more than 90.


maybe its the cat. we have. we paid around 4700 for ours and this year the quote was 6700. also the deposit went up it used to be 200 per person and now its 250

also the lady told me the transfers went up a few dollars.

According to another thread the "interruption" to the unlimited internet package was for the cruise or two when they were refurbising that part of the ship. Barb & Tony reported it happened during their threepeat on the Wonder also but once the work was done it was due to return.
