They are red bumps mostly on my arms and legs. They're itchy and a little sore. I thought they were insect bites at first because they kind of look like mosquito bites but I have more now since I got home. Also my dh and dds don't have a bite on them. We were in the parks Saturday thru Friday and also at Ft Wilderness for the campfire/ movie Friday night and at the ocean in St Augustine Saturday. Any ideas what these might be? TIA!!!

No clue, but I hope other than that your trip went well! How was the campfire/movie. Would you recommend it? (I don't mean to hijack your thread or anything)

Did you eat something out of the ordinary?? Did you get your clothes washed or dry cleaned there? It sounds like its an allergic reaction to something. Its odd that you got it and no one else did. Did you use a different lotion or maybe one of theres??

Sounds like it could be sand fleas or bed bugs. If they are in straight lines, maybe bed bugs. If it is some kind of bugs, they could have traveled on your luggage(maybe why they are getting worse). (disclaimer-I am not an expert & I'm just guessing :goodvibes ). Sbella

I had this same thing all over my legs shortly after a water ride at Universal a few years ago. I took a bendryl and it went away. I am not allergic to anything!! But a friend suggested it and it worked!!!

That sounds like what happened to my DW when we stayed at the Poly 3 years ago. She got those mosquito like bumps all over her legs. I didn't get touched. At first i thought it may be bed bugs but then I should have been bitten too, wouldn't you think so?

Since more bumps have appeared since coming home you either brought pests with you or (more likely) are having an allergic reaction to this. A bath in epsom salts might help.

I think so!
There was an article in a recent magazine about something like this. It stated that sun reflecting off pavement can give you a severe rash. It was probably in "First" or "Women's World". I will look through them. I believe one "cure" was pain pill/oatmeal baths. Hope you feel better soon!!!

Are you taking any medications that react in the sun? Sulfa meds are good at that. Or are you taking any new meds that you may be allergic to? I have also seen a number of people (children mostly) that have bumps like that as a symptom of Strep Throat (streptococcus pyoganies) Can you tell I am a pharmacy tech / pharmacy student in the same classes as pre-med students? :)

The girls really liked the campfire alot. A lady came out first with a guitar and encouraged everyone (esp the kids) to sing. Then Chip n Dale came out to visit with everyone. There was a chuckwagon there where you could buy drinks, pizza, hot dogs, etc and also marshmallows, smores kits and sticks. The movie that night started at 8:40. Since the girls saw Ft Wilderness, they decided we need a motor home so we can stay there! It was a nice relaxing cool night!!

Did you get in a hottub while you were there? A lot of times, if not cared for properly, bacteria loves hottubs, and can result in a break out such as you described.

One more thing- I had a similar rash when I first started working in WDW, and I thought it was bugs from the couch and the company actually replaced my couch! It didn't go away. Eventually it did go away, but after reading the article, I think it may have been the rash they described from the reflecting sun. It makes sense.

Thanks for all the quick replies and keep the suggestions coming please! I did not eat anything unusual nor am I on any meds. I already looked up bedbugs and don't think that's what they are. Plus I would think my hubby would have gotten them too or my youngest dd as she slept with me one night. I will definitely look up sand fleas.
I feel like I have to stay in the house because I look like I have the bubonic plague!!

Are they in sun exposed areas? Are you fair skinned? Burn easily? I have "solardermatisis." Yes, I am allergic to the sun. I get small red pimple like dots that are itchy when out in the sun, even with sunscreen! So if you see a crazy lady in long pants, long sleeves and a hat in 90 degree heat, it might be me! This devolped over time, I did not have it when I was younger.

We can all guess all day and night, but you should consider a visit to your doctor!

No, I stay away from hot tubs for that reason but thanks for the suggestion!

Possibly No-Seeums. They are a bug that just seem to like to chew on some people more than others with no real rhyme or reason. Their bites look much like you describe.

I was going to say No-Seeums too. They are so small, you no-see-um! :goodvibes
They bite like heck though and several can land on you and you won't even realize it.

Skin so soft works for me, they love my ankles!

Hope you clear up soon :wizard:

If you can take Benedryl you really should take a dose, if it is any kind of allergy or bug bites this will help.... :sunny:

Hope you get better soon

Okay, I looked up no-see-ums and I definitely think that's what they are. Yuck!! What do you do to relieve the symptoms and how long do the symptoms last?
