Well, just got back this past Saturday from Disneyworld Port Orleans Riverside resort and have a few stories to tell. Want to Listen? Well here goes..... Drove from New Jersey Saturday the 2nd to arrive Sunday the 3rd. No Problem except for all the rain the entire way down. Warm day on Sunday 75-78 degrees. Resort was really empty. We were perplexed, yet happy for no crowds. Checked in and went to room. We stayed in the Arcadia house area(mansions). We usually stay in the alligator bayou section, so this was a change. Nice grounds and room, except the tv did not work very well and the remote needed batteries. Also the toilet did not flush very well. Went to marketplace that night and boy that place was packed like sardines. Now I know where everyone was, THERE!!! Nice warm nightfor now....cold spell came down from the north that made temperatures plunge into the 30's overnight and 50's during day. Glad we brought sweatshirts and winter coats. We had two days of cold then two days of warm(70's). Wacko weather!!!

We went to Magic Kingdom the next day. Sun finally came out just in time for the afternoon parade. Very Nice parade, I enjoyed it very much. We had to keep walking around all day or you would freeze, the wind made it worst. Park was pretty crowded, especially fantasyland.
My wife thought Winnie the Pooh ride was quite stupid and quick, oh well. Everything else great that day.

Next day, arrived at Animal Kingdom on sunny, but still a little chilly day. Security checks got even worst as far as bag checking. They really do not check bags that well. That goes for all the parks. made the line go faster though. Nice day in Animal kingdom. Day warmed up to finally eat ice cream. Safari ride was good. A lot of animals out. I finally went on Dinosaur for the first time and really liked it. Whipped me around pretty good. That night ended up at House of Blues in West side for a great sit down meal. Shrimp Po-boy sandwich was outstanding along with the voodoo shrimp appetizer. Rest of West side ok, nothing to fancy.

Next day, arrived at Epcot which was to be the longest day. World showcase did open till 12, but when it did, everyone ran to greet the characters on the doubledecker bus. took some great pictures there. Nice sunny day, then it got cloudy in the afternoon. Can't win with the weather. We ate in Mexico outside and then went on Maelstorm ride in Norway. Wife thought she was going to be sick because of the magarita she drank and the movement on ride. We waited around for the first Tapestry parade which was cancelled because of wind, but it finally went on an hour before illuminations. We just turned around to look at the lagoon after the parade. Long day, did not get back to room till 10:30 that night.

Last day, MGM studios. Jam packed with spring breakers. Wait for tower of Terror was over 100 minutes. Did the usual rides, including Muppets which we have never seen. We really liked the show alot. Indy jones is still my favorite show. Took nice pictures in front of the 100 year celebration hat. We ate at the 50's prime time cafe and had a great time inside. Waiter really played the role very well. Great food!!!!!! Saw Fantasia that night which was better than it was 3 years ago when we saw it.

Last day, packed our bags, express checkout and on the road back to NJ. We enjoy staying at this resort usually everytime we come(this was our 3rd time here at POR). We think the food at Boatright's is fantastic, both the food court and the restaurant. The grounds here are very nice, peaceful and quiet. We will continue to stay here everytime we are in Disney. Well, that was the trip in a nutshell. If anyone has any questions about the parks or the POR resort, please feel free to post or contact. Thanks MIKE:smooth:

at House Of Blues......yummy.......you sound like you did alot in your visit.......thanks again

Sounds like you packed alot in in a short amount of time! I've never eaten at the House of Blues, and I'm starving right now, and you have me craving one of those shrimp po- boy sandwiches.:D

Hi! You didn't mention what the ride down was like. We have 2 daughter's age 7 months and 5 years old and were considering driving to WDW but I don't know if I will survive the trip!;) We're staying at POR also we usually stay at POFQ. I'm glad to hear that the resturants are good. Thanks for the trip report. We will be there in April and it was good to hear from someone who was recently there.:smooth:

Sounds like a great trip!

Is the boat to DD running again?

Thanks for the trip report!

We are planning on going 2/22/03-3/07/03 and are worried about the weather. It sounds like it was very cold the week you went. Were you able to swim at all ?
How were the lines on attractions ?

We were there last year March 3-7 also. It was beautiful for two days - sunny and 80's. Spent time at the pool and MK. MK lines were walk on's for almost everything. A few 20 minute lines (Space Mountain) and one 45 min. for Pooh.

The other two days were FREEZING and windy. I wish I had my winter jacket but we didn't bring them to FLORIDA! So that just shows you how things can change in a hurry that time of year.

The good news? - We are doing it again this year! Of course we hope for all 80 and sunny days! :)

You will have fun no matter what the weather!
