We just returned Tuesday from a week at WDW. We had a great time and I had plenty of opportunity to test my new Olympus E520.:goodvibes It was my first time there with a DSLR and I'm pretty happy with the results. I did get a lot of duds though. Next time I'll have to take a tripod with me to get those fireworks shots. I think I'll put a gorillapod on my Christmas list.

Here are a few pictures that I like from our trip. How did I do?

The obligatory castle pic!

The rhino picture is fantastic! Did you take that on the safari????

Those are incredible! I'm on my way to Disney in 4 days, and it will be my first time with a dSLR! I can't wait!

Very nice, Lynn! You did great having only had your camera for a month. I'm impressed. :thumbsup2

How about some more?

BTW, did you use the old lens and adapter after all?

Nice pictures!

We'll be at WDW in two weeks and it will be the first trip with our K200D.

Can't wait to see the castle lights.

Great pictures!! I'm missing WDW this year ( was supposed to be there just last week but had to miss it  ) so I am visiting all the threads with new pictures a couple of times trying to get my Disney fix till I can get there in person again. Show us some more when you have the time!!

Thanks everyone! We were lucky in that a lot of the animals were up close on the safari. I was most impressed though by the performance of the camera in low light situations. I had always tried to take them before but never got very many keepers. I used the kit lens and handheld the camera, but before our next trip, I'll have to get a faster lens and a tripod to get some of the shots I'd really like.

BTW, did you use the old lens and adapter after all?

I didn't end up taking it with me. I tried it one evening taking shots inside the house, but I wasn't impressed. I didn't want to take a bunch of pictures down there and then not be happy with them. I picked it up again on Friday and was happier with the pics, but even at ISO 200 the pics seem to have noise. There are a couple of threads on the dpreview forum about using the old lenses and the pictures they post there with the lens I have look very good. On one thread they mention to get the lens with Made in Japan on it because the quality is supposed to be very good as compared to the ones that aren't made in Japan, and that's the one I have, so I think I just have to play with it and tweak the settings.
