Wow, what a great place! We requested a dedicated studio and received 1501, corner dedicated studio right next to the side door, what a great location!

The room was very clean, quiet and big. We really loved this place, it was just so beautiful and peaceful.

We did the Boat and Bike family plan which was a lot of fun, we took out speed boats a few times & a poontoon boat once.

I think we've found a new favorite DVC resort in the VWL and will definitely return!

Toured SSR while we were there but I don't think we'll be staying there anytime soon, just not our cup of tea.

Happy to answer any questions!

Glad you had a great trip! VWL is our favorite place and we'll be there in 2 weeks!:bounce:

Our two favorite resorts are VWL and BCV. The kids like BCVs the best because of the pool, and we all like the easy walk over to Epcot. I like the theming of VWL and the walk over to FW.

You may want to give BCVs a try too. We have tried OKW, and like the size of the rooms and the lower points, but it isn't our favorite resort. We are going to give BWVs a try on our next trip in Decemeber so I can't say what we think of it yet. SSR doesn't have a big appeal to us either UNLESS we decide to stay a day before we go on the cruise and just want to go to DTD for dinner and maybe go to the Cirque show sometime.

Your trip sounds wonderful! We'll be there after the cruise!

Can you tell me more about the Boat and Bike family plan?

It was priced at 254.00 but with the DVC discount it was 229.00. It gave us unlmited access to the boats(speed, pontoon, canopy) and bikes(excluding surrey bikes) for the length of our stay, up to 10 days total. We figured out that with the plan we saved over 100.00, we rented boats everyday but one and were there 10/1-10/8.

We love VWL too. Took great advantage of the Bike and Boat Plan in May. It was a wonderful time.

So the plan is obviously for your family.... would it work for my group, 8 adults? And, can you do it at the other resorts or is only VWL?

Where is there more info on this?

Glad you enjoyed the VWL. It is without question our favorite resort.
Thanks for the report:bounce:

No, rentals end at 5pm each day. You'd have to go through Disney to get a fireworks cruise.

The Bike & Boat plan is available at other WDW resorts (FW, Contemporary, GF and Poly for sure. Also BCV/BWV I believe.)

The plan is limited to five people. So you can do it, but you would have to purchase two plans. And if you purchase the plan at, for instance, VWL/WL....then that is the only place you can rent the bikes or boats from.

You might want to do a search on Bike & Boat plan....it's been discussed here a few times.

Thanks for the post. We've had lunch once at WL and it's beautiful. I wanted to stay there this summer using AP discount, but was outvoted and we ended up at CR. That was nice being on the monorail! My DW has some aversion to WL and WLV. I guess it's too "outdoorsy". To her that translates into BUGS maybe...
