in every way. Check-in was a breeze (around 9:30 PM Sunday). Got the "Welcome Home" and a welcome handshake. I think we got a handicapped 1 bedroom...wide doorways, shower with curtain and bench...no problem for us...back to this later.
Resort was 100% filled with a very quiet, civilized crowd. You would never know it was a maximum capacity. No chair hogs, no screaming kids, (very well behaved kids...we didn't have kids with us and when you are surrounded by other peoples kids I think you might tend to be more critical but the kids were perfect). Weather was also perfect. Star gazing at night on the beach was amazing. No bugs! We enjoyed the Green Cabin room very much. I thought Shutters was a little expensive for dinner but pretty good food. The resort grounds were perfectly manicured.
We ventured around the area this time...Capt. Hyrim's(sp) was fun for lunch...bit windy that day but great fish 'n chips.
The Harbor Oceanograpic Institue was great...great way to spend a day if you get tired of lounging poolside.
Night game a Dodgertown was great fun. Seeing some baseball greats up close on a perfect spring evening.
Room was in fine shape...they came in one day to switch out the upholstered chair...one day water was off for an hour (we were gone so no problem for us...cable was out on the one rainy day we had, but again, we were gone so no problem...one light bulb out in bedroom and the extra blanket needed a washing...we did not use it and threw it with the towels and told the housekeeper on our way out.
Back to handicapped unit...the resort was full and parking seemed to be a problem down at our villa (15) except that the handicapped spots were always opened. Here's a debate, if you get the handicapped unit should you be able to park in the handicapped spot? I don't think I would, but it's a debatable point I think.
Anyway, sorry this is so long but we had a great time, loved the resort, loved the area and so glad to be a DVC member. Thanks to all the great advice from this board. It adds much value to the DVC membership. Hope you all have as great a DVC vacation experience as we have had on all of our trips.
