I'll type up a full report later, but thought I would see if anyone had specific questions. We LOVED our time at Vero!!! I can't wait to go back!

1. What kind of unit did you have? Did you have a view?
We originally had booked a studio, ended up getting an oceanview inn room! We had a room on the end of the resort, that had a view of the ocean - not direct on, but a view nonetheless! We were on the third floor, and thought it was perfect!
2. Did you eat at any good restaurants off-site?
Offsite we only ate at Captain Hiriam's. We ended up with mixed reviews. I had the Alaskan King Crab, which I thought was delicious, dh had steak that he said was fatty (ds says it was a seafood place what did you expect!LOL), oldest ds had shrimp and youngest ds had fried mac and cheese - oldest ate every bite, youngest ate a couple of bites. We also had crab cake and mozzarella sticks for appetizers and they were good. I drank a couple of mixed drink (Pirates Passion I think?) and it was good - not too strong. Boys drank non-alcoholic daquiris - lime for youngest and oldest had banana - I thought they both were good! Dh drank beer. Service was good, prices were pretty reasonable I thought. We spent right at $100. The best part was sitting on the deck and watching the fish jumping out of the water!
3. Is there anything else in the area worth doing?
We didn't leave the property except to run to WalMart while we waited for our room to be ready. It is a superwalmart with full grocery store. We bought boogie boards there for around $15 - I would recommend the boogie boards for the teens! There were always a group of them out (but not so bad that you had to look out for them - they tended to stay toward the south end).
4. Any activities for teens?
It is so wonderful that they do have scheduled teen activities! We barely saw our oldest son the entire trip! They have the organized teen activities on Tues and Thurs afternoon/evening. He went to Capture the Flag twice, Campfire twice, and played Dodgeball. He didn't go to the icebreakers. He ended up hanging out with a group of 4-5 others after Tues. One night dh took the football out on the bocce court and had I think 4 boys and 1 girl (in addition to our 2) out there playing. I think ds had the best time on this vacation and I give a lot of credit to the organized activities getting him to find others his age to "hang out" with!

What was the ocean like? Rough or calm? Were lots of people in it? Did you go to the beach that has lifeguards? I'm a bit afraid to go in the ocean without lifeguards.

Was Capt. Hariams located inland.........over a bridge (intercoastal waterway) and overlooking the waterway??? I am trying to think if that may be the restaurant we ate at a few years back or was it the Patio............we weren't pleased with it either.
I just posted another thread about off site restaurants...........we will be there in 2 weeks............any teen activities on the weekends???????
thanks
