We are just back from the 2/12 sailing on the Wonder, so I thought I would post a quick trip report before I am forced back into the reality of work and 0 degree weather!
Our sailing was part of a land and sea package. Our stay at the Poly was amazing and the DCL transfers went smoothly, as always. We arrived at the port on Thursday about 1:15, and quickly got through security and were on the ship.
We were hoping to get Katarina from Croatia as our server. However, she had just left for home a few days before. That worked out fine, because Richard from Chilie was fantastic. He was great with the kids, very knowledable and fun. Our entire party loved him and Levi from Romania, our assistant server.
Albert was our stateroom host, and had also been our host in December '01. What a treat to have him again. We loved his towel animals, especially the lobster!
We attended a returning cruisers party on Saturday evening. It was so great meeting Captain Henry after seeing him in the Travel Channel video so many times. He posed for pictures and was very engaging. He told us the name of the new DCL ship will be the Disney Rumor, as that is all it is right now. LOL.
The weather was just amazing! Although I know that Jan/Feb can be on the cool side, we were treated to sunshine and upper 70s the entire time. The water on Castaway Cay was just fine for swimming. We only spent a brief amount of time in Nassau. We preferred to remain on the beautiful ship. That option seems to be more popular these days, as the pools were quite full while we were in port.
Of course, the cruise was way to short, so we booked an Eastern for Jan '05 while on board. They are still offering 10% off and a $200 stateroom credit. Danielle re-booked for us, and says "hello" to Barb and Tony.
Although I will be back to work today, feel free to ask any questions regarding on-board movies, activities etc.
