I'll do a full trip report for our 4 day trip, but I wanted to post on this board regarding the Dolphin. We had stayed at the Swan once, but this was our first time at the Dolphin. WE LOVED IT. No mold problems. No problems with being overcharged on our bill. These are two issues I had been reading about lately on these boards for the Dolphin.
The rooms are fresh and modern. The heavenly beds absolutely live up to their name. We were on the 10th floor, I paid for a standard room and we had a fabulous view of the Swan, Crescent Lake and to the right we could see Tower of Terror and bits and pieces of MGM. We could also see Fantasmic from our room.
The food offerings at the Swan and Dolphin are far superior, IMHO, than Disney owned places. Blue Zoo, Fresh, Kimonos - they were excellent as was our Thanksgiving dinner at the Dolphin Ballroom. Oh, and the Cabana Bar at the pool area had 100% better burgers than Beaches & Cream. Not to mention the coffee.....Starbucks coffee anywhere you go, even Tubbi's. No nasty Nescafe.
We were impressed and for $139.00, it was a steal. The resort fee is gone, but they do nickel and dime you to death. With the rate we got, we couldn't complain. Self parking is $8.00 a day, but they forgot to charge us. A little luck there. High speed internet is $10 a day. I think valet parking is $12 a day. Local phone calls are $1 each. The health club was $8.00 a day. I would much prefer the resort fee.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. We would definitely stay there again. The Poly is our favorite resort, but if the Swan and dolphin keep offering such amazing rates, we'll be regulars. You can't beat the price for such a nice hotel, and the location is fabulous!
