A great 4 nights come to an end too soon. Beautiful weather & a great time. A few tidbits & news...

- The Palo brunch is up & running. Invitiation only at this point. They do it on the "at sea" day only. We went to Palo for dinner on Monday night & asked our server about it and managed to get invited. It was fabulous! Complimentary mimosas & incredible food. Because it is still a test & invite only, it does not count against your "1 trip to Palo per cruise". In other words, you can do dinner & brunch in a single cruise. No word on how it will work if/when they go live with brunch. And, no brunch on the 3-day - only the 4-day Wonder & 7-day Magic.

- Bridge tours are back. This was the first cruise that they did bridge tours again since the alert level was dropped. Very small groups, though. We were lucky enough to sign up first thing Sunday when we got on board.

- Enjoyed the Castaway Club reception. Captain Henry did talk about the elusive 3rd ship. He was clear that there are no contracts in place to build it but it sure did sound like the plans were in the works. He sounded very optimistic that it will come to be - no timeframes, of course.

- The Golden Mickeys are a lot of fun - new since we went last January. Show up early, try to walk in wihtout other groups & you may get selected to be interviewed live just outside of the theater.

Our 2 "best finds" on this cruise:

- The bar in Palo is open to the public (still no kids, of course). It's an undiscovered gem. Andrey is the bartender. He said that they get virtually no bar traffic because everyone thinks all of Palo is reservation only. It's a FANTASTIC place to enjoy incredible views, atmosphere & perhaps the best bartender in all of Disney (tell Andrey that the Martins said hi!).

- The aft overlook on deck 7 is another undiscovered gem. Nobody seems to go there. It's protected from the wind, it's quite large & the views are incredible. We went there as the ship sailed from Castaway Cay. Wow! Just walk all the way to the back of the ship on deck 7 & you'll find the door.

Can't wait to go back!!!

Glad you guys had a great time..they'll be 8 of us on the Feb.22 Wonder 4 Day Cruise....with temps still way below zero up here we can't wait!!!! Cathie & The Gang:boat: :grouphug:

OK, now we have to get invited to Brunch??? I wonder how you make that A list?? I think I'd rather be able to kick myself for not getting in the ressie line early than to have to hope to get invited!!

What does that mean???? :snooty:

It means that you can not walk into Wavebands when you get on-board & make reservations for the Palo brunch yet like you can for Palo dinner. They just started to test the brunch - in fact, the 1/11-15 cruise was only the second time they have tried the brunch on the Wonder and our server told us that the first time (the 1/4/04 4-day) was almost exclusively crew. They do not publicize the fact that the brunch exists yet - partially because it's just a test and it may or may not become a regular feature, and partially because they need to control the audience size to work out all of the details.

I have no idea how others got invited to the brunch. For us, we asked during our Palo dinner on Monday night, our server said that she would see if she could get us added to the list and before the end of dinner, the manager came over and extended the invitiation. We were lucky.

Welcome back! Thank you for the post because I learned a few new things. I can't believe I never heard about the Palo bar before. I will definitely check that out next time. Also I'll have to check out deck 7 when leaving Castaway Cay, just for a different view. Thanks again! :sunny:

edmartin was the water cold at castaway?we are going feb1st and were just wondering?
we were going to skip palo because it was only a last minute 4day cruise we booked but now that you mentioned the brunch we might go just to see if we could BEG for an invite.lol
we love the brunch on the magic.
and we also always go to the bar at night at palos just for the view especially when it is in port.

I believe the board said 72 degrees when we got there. The air/sun was certainly a lot warmer. I live in FL so 72 degree water is pretty chilly to me. Didn't stop my kids from wanting to go snorkeling, though. So, I did it. By the time we got out about half way to the first life guard piller, the water felt OK and we stayed out for quite a while. Lots of people in the water.

Where do you go to sign up for the bridge tour..my brother-in-law & the boys would love it! We'll be on the 4 Day Wonder February 22. Cathie & The gang:boat: :grouphug:
