A great 4 nights come to an end too soon. Beautiful weather & a great time. A few tidbits & news...
- The Palo brunch is up & running. Invitiation only at this point. They do it on the "at sea" day only. We went to Palo for dinner on Monday night & asked our server about it and managed to get invited. It was fabulous! Complimentary mimosas & incredible food. Because it is still a test & invite only, it does not count against your "1 trip to Palo per cruise". In other words, you can do dinner & brunch in a single cruise. No word on how it will work if/when they go live with brunch. And, no brunch on the 3-day - only the 4-day Wonder & 7-day Magic.
- Bridge tours are back. This was the first cruise that they did bridge tours again since the alert level was dropped. Very small groups, though. We were lucky enough to sign up first thing Sunday when we got on board.
- Enjoyed the Castaway Club reception. Captain Henry did talk about the elusive 3rd ship. He was clear that there are no contracts in place to build it but it sure did sound like the plans were in the works. He sounded very optimistic that it will come to be - no timeframes, of course.
- The Golden Mickeys are a lot of fun - new since we went last January. Show up early, try to walk in wihtout other groups & you may get selected to be interviewed live just outside of the theater.
Our 2 "best finds" on this cruise:
- The bar in Palo is open to the public (still no kids, of course). It's an undiscovered gem. Andrey is the bartender. He said that they get virtually no bar traffic because everyone thinks all of Palo is reservation only. It's a FANTASTIC place to enjoy incredible views, atmosphere & perhaps the best bartender in all of Disney (tell Andrey that the Martins said hi!).
- The aft overlook on deck 7 is another undiscovered gem. Nobody seems to go there. It's protected from the wind, it's quite large & the views are incredible. We went there as the ship sailed from Castaway Cay. Wow! Just walk all the way to the back of the ship on deck 7 & you'll find the door.
Can't wait to go back!!!
