We just got back from a great trip to Disneyland! We used our DVC points for a weekend stay at Paradise Pier. We arrived Friday afternoon and checked out today. This was our second time staying at Paradise Pier and the first time staying Concierge level. When I checked in, I was told that we were upgraded from a City/pool view to a Theme Park view! We were on the 14th floor and had the most amazing view of CA. DH and I were celebrating our 18 year Anniversary so I am not sure if that's why we were upgraded but I wasn't asking questions.:goodvibes

We have stayed Concierge level at a few different resorts including just coming back 2 weeks ago from Disneyworld's Animal Kingdom Villas and the staff in the Concierge lounge here were by far the nicest I have encountered. They did say that the hotel, esp. Concierge level was not very full. We never saw more than 2 families in the lounge when we were there and most of the time it was empty. The staff was so accommodating and friendly and we really utilized the lounge this trip. I took some pictures of the desserts and the views if anyone would like me to post them! We found the offerings to be pretty good although I have to admit, I think that AKL Concierge had more food and a better variety. If anyone would like to know what was offered, let me know and I will post!

As far as the PP goes, I really liked the hotel staff, every CM we encountered was wonderful. I have to admit though, I still really like the GC. We enjoyed every bit of our stay at PP esp. the Concierge staff/lounge and the view, but I guess I am a GC girl.:lovestruc

I know what you mean - I really like the GCH too. I wanted to go back there this year but I can't, so it's back to the PPH for me. I have stayed at PPH several times but never seen their concierge food offerings, so I am interested in seeing pictures if you don't mind posting them!! I will be there in just a few days (though not in concierge). I am hoping that the vast openings at the hotel (which CM's have confirmed) MAY mean a nifty upgrade for us too, or possibly an offer to stay an extra night at a discounted rate, as they sometimes do.

ooh wow we just missed eachother. we check out on Friday after having breakfast in the lounge we were on the 14th floor room 1417 over looking the pool as well. I posted some pics of the lounge in the food section.
although i also like GCHC we decided with the kids we prefer pphc. And that is because the food selections are more for kids at PPHC.

Sherry E- I will post try and get the pictures uploaded tomorrow! I will also post what was offered!

Pycees312-We did just miss each other, we arrived around 1 PM. Was the lounge totally empty of guests while you were there? We pretty much had the lounge to ourselves. It was great. It's funny that you mentioned your kids liked PP better because my 10 year old said the same thing! We actually had a theme park view and he loved looking out the window into the park. He also said they had the best snacks!:thumbsup2
