Hi

We just got back last night from SSR which was our first DVC trip and we absolutely loved it and looking to buy more points. We definitely want to buy at OKW. We are looking to buy 50 points and everytime I call the Time Share Store it seems like the smaller contracts sell quickly. Is there another way to get a head of this or should we be looking somewhere else? Thanks

Glad you had a great time !!

Try calling Disney. There's NO closing fees and should be some OKW pts. available!! :thumbsup2

plus, if you buy thru Disney, you can get the same use year you already have, and they can add it as an extension of your exisitng contract which means there are no point transfer headaches having 2 independent contracts.

If you are wanting to go with resale (to save $ on points) you could go on a wait list with the TSS and they could call you when a contract that you are interested in becomes available ( I think they even call before it makes it to the site).

Small resale contracts sell at a premium price. By the time you add in closing costs, you will be getting close to Disney's price for OKW ($92/pt). Disney gives you a full set of current-UY points with your add-on, does not charge closing costs and you will have the points in your account in 24 hours. You will pay pro-rated dues for 2007, based on your purchase date. So if you purchased today, you would owe 10 months worth of dues for 2007, billed after you close.

GMAC has a 40, a 60 and a 70 point contract listed on their website for OKW.

they probably have more needing to be listed on their website yet...

I would also try to get my user year through Disney first - just my opinion.

Good luck and keep us posted.

How do you find out how many points are coming with those contracts? When I click on a contract link, I get a form to fill out to submit an offer. I can't figure out how to get info such as the UY, and whether there are any banked, current or next UY's points available.

Follow the link in Delaware Mike's post. Scroll to the top of the page. On the left hand side, click on Contact Us there is an 800 number listed. I don't know if they'll have that info at the 800 number (I've never bought resale from any company,) but at least it is a contact number.

Yes I agree, Chuck. It looks like in order to compare contracts, you have to contact them via their web form or call them up. I'm not in the market for another resale. I'm just curious why they don't list these important details on their website, as some other resale brokers do. They list the size of the contract and the price, but not the number of points that come with the contract -- the contracts could be loaded or stripped or somewhere in between, but prospective buyers have no way of determining that from their website. It's important for anyone buying resale to know exactly how many points they will be getting with a particular contract.

I believe it's simply a marketing approach to doing business. I'm in sales and know it's far easier to sell something when having a dialog with a prospective customer, than to simply have them look at the information on a screen.

We call it relational selling in my company....build that relationship then provide solutions to a customer's needs.

PS - Someone also PM'd me, and I supplied a GMAC agent's contact information for their follow-up.
