Stayed a week at RPR club level. 1st room had a terrible view (3756) of the highway with Wet & Wild in the distance. Requested & received a room change, (3736) with probably the best view possible. Great view of Islands & the Pool.

Be warned, movie night is EXTREMELY LOUD in your room. The glasses were rumbling on our table. We were not happy as we had a very early flight the next day. Called the desk 2x & they could care less.

Club level was nice. After staying on the 14th floor at CR, this "ranks" more as "light concierge" to me. The food was fairly good. The dessert selection was a bit "weird" to me. Same things over and over. All the cookies had nuts except for a few with raisens. Didn't seem homemade, more like the slice & bake kind. The only thing for kids was the Uncrustable PB&J's. I really missed something to drink during the day. We did have bottles in our room. But they weren't cold & it was a long walk. They only had coffee & tea. They could have at least put out some cold water. Didn't have to be bottled, could have had a pitcher & glasses. Again, something for kids.

The pool area had to have been the nicest we've seen. The pool is HUGE. They have 2 water basketball hoops & a water volleyball net. Take all the toys you want, they don't care. If you buy a ring or floater, the towel hut has a pump to blow it up for you. We also went to the Hard Rock one day. The pool seemed to tiny in comparison. My dd just wanted the slide. It was abt 3 stories & curved round and round. She LOVED it.

Resturants were good. Service was good. Prices fairly reasonable.

We went to Sea World one day. Shamu statum was PACKED, show was just starting, when a trainer came out. One of the whales was in heat & wanted to get "laid". :rotfl: So they delayed the show abt 15 minutes. The dolphine show was excellent. Very Circ de Solice (sp??).

We never received our welcome gift, newspaper was the wrong one, dd never received her check-in gift. But all in all, I'd stay here again. Much more relaxing than Disney.

P.S. Didn't really need front of the line as the parks weren't busy at all. Only on a few rides. Dd is only 7, so we didn't do the coasters or more thrilling rides.

One more thing, the DIS is BLACKED OUT on the computer in the lounge. I could use any other site I tried. I could DIS in my room, just not on the computer in the lounge. (You get the white page not found.)

That's too funny that they have blocked DIS. They don't want you getting on and reporting.

When we did HRH club they had bottled water, soft drinks and lemonade all day. I wonder why the RPH doesn't have that?

It is interesting that you didn't get the Dis because when I was there in the beginning of August, I went on it the first morning that we were there and then after that, there was a sign on the computer (the entire remaining days of our trip ...6 days), saying that the computer was not working. I thought that was fishy for such a long time!!! :confused3

We have stayed club level at RPR numerous times, and they have always had bottled water and sodas throughout the day. :( They had them when we were there in May. I sure hope this isn't a cut back that they will be implementing permanently! I am sorry they didn't leave these out for you. We are going back to RPR Club next Sunday, and I will surely speak up if they have discontinued that service. Or, maybe it's a new policy that you have to ask for them now, as there are always some that abuse the privilege when the bottles are out for the taking? Just conjecture here. I will ask the club staff who know us well by now what the scoop is when we see them on Sunday. That would certainly not be a welcome change to us!

Ugh, and no DIS from the lounge?! How will I ever check in from there?! Perhaps I am to blame when in May we were assigned club level on the 6th floor, and I reported as much on the DIS as we were VERY unhappy about that!

Thanks for the report. I am familiar with all the views on the 7th floor, and the one you got at first is indeed a stinker! The problem is that only about 1/4 of the rooms on club floor have good views. One time, we got a stinker of a view and asked to be moved. It was a much better view, but they moved us to a handicapped room, which we did not like the layout at all. So, you lucked out with your good move! :) Too bad though that movie night interfered with your enjoyment of it. :(

P.S. Wanted to add that there are many complaints from DIS families about the lack of kid-friendly food offered. I think one of the problems might be that the RPR is really a convention hotel, and they feel an adequate compromise is offering the PB&J sandwiches? Just a guess, but until everyone fills out the surveys that say they need to be more kid friendly, I doubt it is likely to change.

When I went, we normally drink a lot of bottled water. So, we would go into the lounge and take one each and when we would leave we would take one each. After a few days, we had to ask for the bottled water and sodas. I wonder if it was our fault? :confused3

They will probably change to what the Polynesian Conceirge Level does now. When we went, they had large water bottles that you could pour out of. Not really individual sizes. Although we would ask for a bottle to take back to our room with us. I'm not sure of the capacity, maybe a liter size????

...great report...loved the 'call-of-the-wild' part..... :lmao:

That is odd. There was plenty of bottled water and sodas when we were there end of June, and the lounge was always very crowded.

Thanks for the report. In July there were bottled waters and sodas all day..I wonder why they changed? Also, I was "dissing" every day when I was there with updates so that must have been changed too. I agree with you about the desserts being the same each time (although we were only there for a weekend). I loved the lounge and the roominess of it.

I called the RPH last week to ask a few questions about club level and the lady was very helpful. She was telling me the advantages of club level and one of them was that their was bottled water available all day for you to take to the parks with you if you wanted. I hope they didn't change it???

For goodness sake, we just got back from RPH Club level, Aug 25-26-27. IF there was no water out, or soda, etc all you had to do was ask, and they got it for you. My daughter bugged them for hot chocolate all the time, and they fetched it with a smile. I am not sure WHY they took away the beverages once in awhile, sometimes they were there between offerings, other times we had to ask. They were quite helpful up there.

If you have to ask for it, then they should tell you. Several times, it was CLEAR that my dd & I were looking for something to drink. No offer was made. How much more clear than "dd, please stay on the couch and watch your show, I will go down to the store to buy you something to drink" can I be.....

I just asked for the drinks, never thought about it. But, I must agree with the question of WHY they remove the water and soft drinks. It does not seem like much work to keep them stocked between food offerings. They are not that busy or anything.

While very NICE, they seemed a little clueless up there. I had several questions, like what the dive in movies would be for Fri and Sat night (asked on Friday morning). It took them more than several minutes to locate this info. I also asked about internet access, and they were not sure about that either (I mean using my own laptop in room or lounge) (I was hoping for wireless in the lounge, or my room. Ended up using dial up in room)
One night we were locked out of the lounge, and had to pound on the door to get in. They kept telling us it was our fault somehow, until my DH (union carpenter) made one of THEM step outside, closed the door, and proved that the door was indeed locking itself. Sorta funny, they were just humoring him to be polite I think!

Resort is so beautiful, love it.

Did you actually ask them???? That would be terrible if you had to go to the store to get something to drink!!! I'm mean geez!!! That's why we stay club level, right!???

PATMCDUCK: I agree with you. I loved the resort too, but the staff did seem clueless or at least not very well versed in helping in some areas. I asked a few questions and (seeing that the computer in the lounge was not working :furious: ) I had to actually go behind their desk and help them navigate info on their computer!!!
Don't get me wrong...I liked the hotel, I liked club level BUT part of conceirge service is that they should have general info at the tips of the fingers. JMHO

Yeah, I wondered why they couldn't tell me what's playing tomorrow? They'll likely email me after we leave in the morning.

I reported this in my trip report, but I will post it here too. We got back from RPR Club last week. Beverages are now only out for the taking during service times. They are available by request at all other times the lounge is open.

You can thank all the families who thought they never had to buy another beverage anywhere in the complex since they were staying Club. It turns out that too many families were bringing in coolers full of RPR Club beverages into the parks, and Universal complained to the resort. Don't forget that Loews and Universal are still 2 separate businesses. We never had a problem taking one bottle of water each, but don't push it. Next they'll take away "beverages by request."
