just back from 2 weeks at POP any questions. Also dide Sea World and Universal Studios Mardi Gras. All Disney parks and TL. Ask away??????

How was the bus system? What about the food and the food court? Were the pools great? I wanted ressies for there in May but no AP left.

The bus system was great but busy crowds and had to stand a few times. Also except for DTD the bus stop always seemed to be the furtherst one. It seems to me that people are getting ruder about bus ediquette. I watched many people push to the head of the line and board the bus then hold seats for their families. Also this past week they started renting the surry's at POP which was fun. If I remember it was 18.00 for 1/2 hour and you still can not go all the way around the lake. I talked to several people about when POP would be completed and everone was tighted lipped. This was my 49th trip to WDW and I have stayed at each resort at least one nite. I have stayed at the AStars many times and in recent years called ASMU my home resort but will probably call POP that for now. I think the Mears bus stop is a little inconvienent but I can see its advantages also. All in all a great resort had a great room on first floor 3172 and loved that the beds were lower than the all stars. Room very well set up. Food court was great but I did not like the tye died chese cake more of a NY style and my prefrence is the no bake creamier one. Lots of choices for all meals.
Was surprised to see the coke machines now take credit cards I did not try it but if I did not have cash on me I would have. These are the ones where the ice machines are located by the rooms. One thing I did miss was the outside sitting at the ASMu to have breakfast. It seems there were more tables in the sun at ASMU than at POP but may be that the early morning sun just isnt there.

Can you please explain how Mears work at POP? I was thinking they'd just pull up in front of the resort to load and unload.

The seat holding thing sounds like it could become a problem.

We are going in June, and have never been to either TL or BB, but were planning on doing one or the other. I'm sort of leaning towards TL. How was it? Also, we are doing Sea World, and US/IOA as well. Any advice on Sea World (did you eat there, etc.) and any word on when the Mummy will open at US?

Another rude pet peeve. When will people learn that they aren't the only ones trying to have a good time without all the rude shortcuts.

The Mears Bus pulls up to the Porte Cochere, just like every other resort. It's right where Luggage Assistance and the front desk is. They have thier own lane, and waiting area.

I'm not quite sure how that might be percieved as inconvenient...

We are thinking of going to Universal for the day, how far away is it from disney?

The mears bus pulls up to a little island that has two benches on it.You then have to cross the road that people are coming in on to the parking lot and or to unload their cars. Mind you this is with your luggage in tow. It is true it is not a big deal just a little inconvienent. At the ASMU for instance mears pulls up to the side of the building and you walk into the lobby. Like I also said before that I can see its advantages like keeping out of the way of Disney Busses. And this does not take away from the resort.
Universal and Sea world are a short distance away by mears 14.00 round trip. Less that 10 minutes.
Typhone Lagoon is my favorite water park and the lazy river there is wonderful.

Actually, the road to the check in parking lot is a separate road. The area that you cross is the Porte Cochere. It's not really a road, just an area where folks can stop and unload thier cars. It's the exact same at every other Disney resort, with the All-Stars being a half exception. They drop off at the Porte Cochere, and pick up in a separate area.
