Just back from POP -- here's my 2 cents:

I think I'm going to request the 50's building, 4th floor, looking at hourglass lake. Sounds VERY pretty (and we like the duck and crane thing).

It really was pretty! You'll like that location. And since you like the ducks and cranes, you'll like that there are also BUNNIES everywhere at POP (and I can't believe I forgot to mention them!)

Yes, my daugher LOVES the bunnies! Unfortunately, there are also hoodlum children who like to chase them.

We love the bunnies too, so much so we have approximately 752,837 plus or minus living in my butterfly garden!!! :scared1: Or maybe I should say what REMAINS of my butterfly garden :lmao: !! Yes, I agree with the PP about the obnoxious kids chasing them. Totally uncalled for. Just look at them and enjoy them.

Ahh, that's OK, one of these days, one of the kids will catch one and will get the shock of their life when that sweet looking bunnies tears them up. :scared: They ain't always so sweet.:sad2:

We didn't see any of that at POP, but we were pretty isolated back there. We did see kids trying to RIDE the goats at Rafiki's petting zoo in Animal Kingdom, though - - WTH!??!?! Parents were laughing and taking pictures. :confused3

Why does Monty Python's Killer Rabbit "pop" into my mind?????

Why does Monty Python's Killer Rabbit "pop" into my mind?????

"Don't let 'im fool yeh...e's got a mean streak, e' has...and big pointy teeth!"

Oh my gosh!:rotfl2: I actually used to have a pet rabbit named Monty Python. I have a black sweat pull over with the rabbit attacking a knight on it and the words "Killer Rabbit" at the top.:rotfl:

Nice review - I have a question. With your view of the lake, was the unfinished Legendary Years section visible? :crazy2: We'll be staying at Pop for a week in Sept.

Thanks again for the information, I'm glad you had fun.

Unfortunately, yes. We really didn't even know what it was? Is it supposed to be the 21st century? What's the story there? It was definitely visible, but not necessarily an eyesore.

No, it's actually going to be the decades prior to the current sections. Early 1900s - 1940s. I think it will be depressing to look at it. Creepy, even. But you say it wasn't bad, so...:confused3 . Maybe I'm worrying needlessly.

Thanks for the review. Did they still have the icee machine on their drink island? That is why my DH wanted to go back to POP!

Oh where is Brother Meynard with the Holy Hand Grenade when you need him?[/QUOTE]

Perhaps he's bringing us .... a SHRUBBERY.

I guess I'll just have to warn my kids absolutely no fighting or yelling while in the room.
I'm hoping they will be too tired anyway.

Kidslvdizny2

me too!! we will be at POP for the 1st time in less than 2 weeks  very worried about kid noise - I have 3 (1 under 3) hopefully they will be worn out!
after our 3 nights at POP we are moving to a FW cabin. these 2 stays are going to be *very* differant I think :upsidedow

Thanks for the review. All of the value resorts look like they are alot of fun!
I am trying to talk DH into a quick December trip!:confused3

If you do, go before December 19th as that's Value Season. And it's still pretty warm and all the Christmas decorations will be up. Walking around Disney World in shorts and listening to Christmas music is awesome!!:santa:

And stop telling everyone about the great view and the quietness of the lake
view rooms. Disney will find out and start making those Preferred Rooms and we'll have to pay more!!:ssst:

Hi and thanks for the review. We arrive at POP on Aug. 21. I can't wait.
We have 2 standard rooms. Is the 50's building standard or preferred?

There are select rooms that are preferred, not the whole 50's section. I believe the rooms that face the pool are most likely preferred. We were in a standard room on the top floor of the Tramp building on the back side of the pool. We walked out of our room, around the corner and down the elevator and we were at the pool. Very short walk, no need to pay extra. :wizard:

Good and fair review! I think for a few years now, sheets get changed every 3 or 4 days at all WDW hotels, unless you make a special request or actually remove the sheets from the bed...seems weird to have the bed made up with stained sheets, but I've had it happen too (not just at values). Some good suggestions I've read and used for the noise is keeping the bathroom door closed and putting a rolled up towel by connecting door. I love Pop and have been visiting for lunch and the gift shop even when not staying there :)

I've never stayed at the POP (never even been to Disney) but the last hotel I stayed at had two connecting doors. My neighbors were LOUD, let me tell you. I could hear regular conversation!!! Anyway, I simply went to the front desk and requested a non-adjoining room....problem solved! If noise is a problem, my assumption is that the hotel staff will be more than willing to accomodate. :)

I'm not sure why many of the posters are assuming that the noise was due to "adjoining" rooms with a door between them. Our room wasn't connected to another room.

Just thought I'd clear that up! :goodvibes

Hi. We'll be there in August. I was so glad to see your post about the half gallons of milk! I plan on taking cereal/breakfast bars and milk is the main thing we will need. Did you happen to notice if they had yogurt/yogurt smoothies??? And is the milk right at the food court or somewhere near?
Thanks for your review.
