Just Back From Pop Century

We just got back from Pop Century and Tyler was right! We had a great time and absolutely loved the Resort.
Got to finally meet Tyler after all the questions. He is a real sweetie!
Tyler was right about how close the buildings are. We walked the entire Resort and the farthest building is not a bad walk.

The lobby is HUGE; and the shadow boxes bring back a lot of memories. Saw lots of things I had forgotten about. DD still has some of the stuff. Can't decide if that makes her Hip or a Geek.
The background music is EXCELLENT!!! A bit of everything.
Lots of Christmas decorations right now.

Room is exactly like AS. We were in the 50's building. Had iron & ironing board. TV is bigger.
Everything Pop - store runs width of bldg much bigger than AS. Food Court is spacious and lots of seating. We found 3 Hidden Mickeys in Food Court! Could be more........

Food Court had 4 sections: Bakery - sandwiches; baked goods (cokies, muffins, etc); ice cream. Next section was Hamburgers, chilli dogs, etc. Then a section with pizza, meatball sandwiches, chicken parm. Last place - Noodles Lo Mein, Chicken soup, Very Sloppy Joes. This is the place to get the old fasioned dinners. Sun & Mon is Buttermilk Fried Chicken; Tues & Wed is Roast Turkey; Thus & Fri is Homemade Meatloaf; Sat is Sliced Beef.

I got the Rost turkey - was very good. Got turkey,stuffing, mashed potatoes & green beans. I think it was $8.99; but worth it!

There is also the Market Place like AS; but a bit larger. Has salads, drinks, muffins, cereals, danish, cookies, etc.

Oh, there are 4 penny machines in Everything Pop (by the Food Court).
That's all a tired brain can think of right now. Will gladly answer any questions I can.

any particular building you think would be really noisy ( since we are going when it is supposed to be packed)

any ideas which floor would be good..could you heard people walking above you, toilets flushing at 2 am ect.

are the food prices, including to go comparable to the als food to go?

Here goes - just made ressie at Pop Century for Jan - it wasn't our 1st choice. AllStar Movies was - my kids LOVE ASMo - the only other place they would choose to stay would be Contemporary Towers (not in the budget). I can't decided whether to keep trying for Movies or enjoy the new experience. Do you think an 8 & 9 yr old be satisified with Pop Century as a 2nd choice?

Glad to FINALLY hear from someone back from Pop Century. Everything sounds great!! I can't wait another 51 days until we get there!!

Mom2boys - I wouldn't change a thing!! Goto the FAQ for Pop Century that Tyler (Chip & Dale Express) has started and read. I don't think your kids will mind being there. How many times can you brag about being in a brand new Disney hotel? There are some pictures on that thread as well that might be of interest.

POOLS - all open; but too rainy or cold when we were there. A few brave souls were in Hippy Dippy Pool Tuesday evening. Computer pool has squishy keyboard & bowling pin pool is set in bowling lanes! Details around all pools in unreal.

Buses - were great;with only 800 guests it was like having a private bus everywhere. Waits were less than 10 minutes.

Noise level - was not problem; but again with 800 guests hard to tell. I imagine the pool sides will be a bit noisy like AS.
Couldn't hear people next door or walking above us; did hear toilet flush; but at 2 am - I'm asleep and don't hear ANYTHING!

Food - I think food prices were comparable to AS: Double cheeseberger was $6.69; Cheese omlette was $5.89; bottle of Choc milk was $2.00; Mom's Special was $8.99; but you get a LARGE portion.

I like ASMO myself; but next trip will be to PC. I think kids would love the Icons - once someone told them what they were (8 tracks? Rubik's Cube?).

Hi Squiggle! Welcome home.

I started to post my trip report on the trip reports board.

Everyone kept asking me who Squiggle was! (for those of you who couldn't be there, she autographed my shirt).

I also got Tyler's autograph, and Tigger of Tigger & Tink.

It was so cool to meet you.

I had over 100 pictures on my camera and erased every one of them!!!!! I did get my disposable camera and tried to make up for what I deleted. Will post those soon.

By the way, I'm not sure if you saw them, but there is more pressed penny machines in the Fast Forward Arcade.

Did you find the hidden Mickey in the bathroom?

Just got back,WOW!!! This place is awesome. Every Cast Member was friendly and very helpful. The theming is great. Poolside bartender "Sean" was a blast. Food in the food court was very good, very fresh, hope that continues. I will stay here again for sure...

Which one of those who just returned has a picture of Tyler? I'm sooo curious to see his sweet face that goes along with his obvious sweet personality!
