We were at Pop Century for 10 days at the end of February. We have gone every year for the past 10 years. Last year we were there in February and November. I have to say that I was disappointed with our stay this time for a number of reasons...
We had a room at the bowling pin pool. We were steps from the entrance to the pool. They closed the pool the morning of the day we checked in. At other times, when there has been pool maintenance, we have received notice prior to check in that the pool will be closed during our stay. This time, no mention, not even at check in. The pool was closed our entire stay and a work crew showed up every morning at 7 and left at 3 in the afternoon.
We celebrate my birthday at WDW every year. Every year I get a phone call from Mickey and Minnie wishing me a Happy Birthday. No call came this year.
One of the food stations in the food court was closed during half of our stay. We were told it was due to staff cutbacks.
Some days we would come back to the room to find that housekeeping only left us half of the usual clean towels.
One day toward the end of our stay we came back to the room at 3:30pm to find the tip envelope gone from the pillow I left it on but the room exactly as we had left it at 8am. When I called housekeeping I was told that staff worked until 4:30 and the room would get made up. What I didn't realize until the next morning was that all the tip envelopes that I had pre-loaded and left in the night table were gone. Not a lot of money but disconcerting anyway.

For the life of me I can not understand the reasoning behind Disneys logic for the past four to five years. I understand the profit thing but I have seen so many companies go by the wayside using this logic but lack of completion in theme park entertainment will keep them going...with many unhappy park goers

I'm not gonna lie...I'm very nervous about my pending trip this December due to the cutbacks...Disney increasing prices but cutting out staff is concerning.

I know with the Birthday phone call, I've always had to prearrange that myself at the front desk. Food stations do get closed from time to time when capacity is down at the resorts. This happened long before these recent cuts.

But if the tip money that you had stored away in drawers was stolen, that's just plain theft and should be reported.
