We just got back late last night from a 8 night stay at WDW. We stayed one night at POR and 7 nights at the Poly. We were in Somoa room 1604. It was great!!!!! I loved the hotel, the room was great, the pool was awesome and you can't beat the view. I would definitely stay there again.

Some of the reports I had read about the Poly said that the volcano pool was so crowded that you could not use it. I have to say that we never found the valcano pool all that crowded. But then, maybe it is all in your expectations. I did not even think that the crowds at the parks (except Typhoon Lagoon) were that bad. We rode everything that we wanted to ride. The only time we found the lines ridiculous and left was during extra magic hours at the MK. It was CRAZY!!!! Not all the rides were operating so the lines for the popular rides were out of control. We probably would have obly ridden 1 ride in 3 hours, so we left. EMH at Epcot worked out better. You have to ride Soarin. It is incredible.

If you have any other questions, let me know. :wave2:

Hi: We also love the poly but we also like port orleans. Did you like POR? Just wondering.

It was very nice as well. Since we had only planned one night there, we did not research it to choose a particular bldg. So we were in bldg. 39 which seemed very very far away from everything. Plus, we kept getting turned around and lost which caused us to walk even further. Although the grounds are beautiful and the pool is awesome. The rooms are a bit smaller than at the Poly, but still accommodated our family of 5. Although my daughter did not like sleeping on the trundle on the floor. It just freaked her out.

Hi: The grounds are beautiful as well at the poly, we especially like watching the families of ducks wandering around.

One more question. Do you know whether the poly room you stayed in was recently redone.

glad to hear you had a good time! I'll be checking in to the poly soon! can't wait!

Glad you had a great stay at the Poly. We had room 1602 once and loved the view too. Hope this has turned you into a Polynesian lover!!

It was still the old decor, but it looked fine. I did not think that it looked worn or tired. Although the pics of the new rooms show new vibrant colors with a more modern look to them.
