During our 13 night stay we spent 7 nights at POFQ, 4 at WL and 2 at SS. At check in,POFQ put us in building 7 in a corner room about as far from the food court, pool and bus stop as you can get with a lovely view of the parking lot and since we were on the ground floor, there was a lot of traffic going past our windows. I asked the next evening if there was a room a little closer to the pool & bus stop and he said sure, we can move you right now to building 2. What a difference!

Next we went to WL for 4 nights. I love a room with a balcony! So much light comes in. Another great room. We had a woods view room on the 4th floor that faced the Magic Kingdom, we could also see the 7 Seas Lagoon too. We were 3 steps from the elevator that took us to the Roaring Forks and pool area. Wonderful stay. We wanted to extend our vacation by 2 nights and couldn't because they were sold out completely. I called CRO, and the only thing I could get was BWV studio for 199.00 with AP discount. I took it but kept calling everyday until I got into the AKL, standard room for 124. I was THRILLED!

We go to AKL to check in and they are overbooked. They asked if we would like to go to Saratoga Springs for the same price as AKL plus $50.00 for our trouble. I said yes but was a little disappointed. We checked in at SS and I couldn't believe it, we had a 1 bedroom villa with a lake view on the ground floor right beside the bus stop, pool and restaurant. This kind of thing just doesn't happen to us. We had a washer and dryer, full kitchen, a king sized bed in the bedroom and a queen pull our sofa in the living room, a whirl pool tub. With only 2 nights, we didn't really have a chance to check out the whole place, but it is lovely. Lots of activity for the kids. The day we got there kids were making ice cream with the staff and having trivia contests at the pool.

If you have any questions about these places, let me know!

Sounds like you had a truly magical trip! :wizard: I was particularly glad to hear you liked SSR since it's my home resort and I have yet to stay there! Welcome back!

How were the crowds?

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Glad you had a magical stay at SSR, we fell in love with the place and feel it is one of Disney's finest resorts. Welcome back!

Would you say the whole bldg #7 at POFQ is undesirable or just the PL view on the ground floor? I'll be checking in POFQ in a couple weeks & while I am not too fussy about room locations, I don't want alot of noise as I am a light sleeper with some health conditions that require me to rest up frequently.

This will be our first POFQ stay & I am more excited about it than I thought I would be. The Dolphin is our favorite resort, but we wanted to take advantage of the free MYW meal plan. Can you tell me how FQ stacks up to the deluxes? We were pleasantly surprised by CSR when we stayed there. I'm hoping FQ will be the same.

Building 7 is a fine building, and for the most part it was quiet - all of FQ is quiet. But if you get that building ask for a room facing the courtyard. I didn't like the PL view because we were on a corner and lots of people walked past our windows going back and forth to the PL and looking in our windows. I'm having hip replacement surgery soon and can get a wheel chair at the parks on bad days but had nothing at FQ so the long walk to the pool, bus stop and food court was not great for me. I will say that the walk from building 7 to the pool on Rue D'Bega was beautiful. Lots of trees and fountains. It seemed to me that buildings 4,5,6 & 7 (west side) had more trees.

The difference between FQ or any moderate and a deluxe has queen sized beds instead of doubles, interior hallways rather than exterior, bigger rooms with a balcony or at least sliding doors/windows for more light, larger pool and water slide, fluffier towels and shower caps :flower: BUT, the moderates always have bigger laundry rooms (which means less waiting for me!)

I think you may like FQ better than CSR.

So glad to hear you liked SSR. We're heading there in October.

Question.....are there elevators? I've never stayed on the first floor of anywhere, but I'm thinking with the stroller and all, maybe it's a good idea. What's that like? Exterior corridors?

Thanks. :cool1:

All of the SSR buildings have elevators. The corridors are exterior, but they are more of an internal-type corridor (it's kind of tough to explain)-- it's not like at the values or moderates-- there are walls, but with open windows-- in some areas it's more external then others. It's still open air, though, so no air condition.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to our stay there. I love the excitement of a new resort. Even tho I have a favorite, it's fun to mix it up a bit now & then.
