Just back from our first stay at Grand Floridian!

Would you know if the dormer rooms available for each category room? (IE Garden View, MK View, etc.) ~

I'm not sure about each category, but each outer building has dormer rooms. It's the rooms on the top floors, when you look at the photo of the GF, it's the rooms near the red roof. You can see the peaks. KWIM?

The dormer rooms are a tad bit smaller than the standard rooms. We had plenty of room for a family of four with a stroller. We thought the ceiling was charming and made the room feel somewhat like a suite.

I think this noisy room can be in any of the outer buildings. If you recieve a ground floor room between the sliding entrance door and the elevator. Ask to be moved. The bellman said even replacing the door and elevator motors every year they get this complaint about these rooms in every building. If I had known this ahead of time I would have never unpacked everything. Hope this helps anyone going.

My DH's trick to avoiding this is to always request "top floor". In the past (not at the GF) we've had a family of gorillas rooming above us. :rotfl2:

That's how we got the dormer room, by requesting top floor.;)

Although I had the room you mentioned near the sliding entrance door at the Poly and LOVED that location. Our room felt so secluded! We loved that room located. I believe we were in Samoa building. (That trip DH stayed home, my mom was the one who requested ground floor!:))

Thank you very much for the room tip. I will be on the look out for that next month.
