Just back from our first BLT stay

It was wonderful!! We had a 1 bedroom MK view room 7920. We checked in Sept 5 and just got home today. When I entered the room and saw the view of the Castle and Space Mtn, it nearly took my breath away and it brought tears to my eyes! We enjoyed Wishes from our balcony every night.

The room had some minor bumps and bruises but was overall very nice. Sofa cushion had a slight rip and nicks and scrapes were on the furniture and walls. Can't understand what the big fuss is with the bathroom door, it's not too bad. The pool was nice & was never crowded.

The walkway between resorts was closed on Monday or Tuesday (I forget) for routine yearly maintenance??? Not sure what they did cause they just did replace the flooring. Noticed that the bedroom does not get as cool as the main room due to inproper sizing of duct work (per my Dh). Also no towel rods in master bath to hang towels to dry and reuse.

We sure enjoy the 1 Bedrooms and don't think we can go back to a studio. Just love having the extra room and that washer/dryer in the room itself.

We loved it so much that we had a bout of addonitis. We are planning our next BLT visit for September 2011!!!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! Know what you mean about the space of the one bedroom. We are 6 wks from a studio stay that started off as one bedroom...even though there will now only be 2 of us, I know I will miss the room (the trade off was more days, of course!)

I noticed this too. There was only one hook in the master bath next to the shower. There were three hooks on the wall in the bedroom as soon as you walked out of the bathroom. We used those for our towels.

The lack of a towel rack is also a problem in the studios - maybe more since you don't have a dryer in the unit. There's lots of room for one so hopefully they'll add them in if it's mentioned enough to DVC.

Did you give any feedback to DVC on the things you thought could be better?

We also noticed a couple of things that were perhaps oversights....no soap dishes in showers...etc.

We sent an email to DVC saying what we liked at the resort and also areas that could be improved. I mentioned the quality difference between VGC and BLT and that at BLT it looked like the project team had lost focus regarding the finishing touches and should have picked up on obvious omissions.

We got a call saying they were looking at the making some of the upgrades we suggested.

My thoughts are that if we wants things to improve it will only happen if we give feedback.

We had a great time and are looking forward to going back to BLT....but it would have been ever better if the project team for BLT had done a better job. They were sloppy.

I sent my feedback via the contact us section on the DVC members website.

It's not perfect for doing this, but in the title I made it clear that I was giving feedback.

I wasn't 100% sure that it would get to the correct place, but the phone call I got from Disney made it clear it had.

BLT studios will be getting a full length mirror.

DH and I are staying at BLT next month! 3 nights lake view, 3 nights MK view! I'm so, so excited! I have a feeling I'll come home with a case of addonitis too!

It was breathtaking!! We had stayed at the Contemporary years ago but this does not compare. Walking into the room and having those full length windows looking out! Wow!!!

Just go to the lobby of BLT and show your KTTW card with your current stay dates. The cast member there just asked if we were staying on points and then escorted us to the elevator and used his KTTW card to let us up to the 16th floor. I was easy and when we were there, it was pretty empty. We didn't stay long, as we had a MK view so the view was the same. I can see using it more if we didn't have a MK view. Enjoy!!
