We've done the Dream twice and this was our first extended (7 night) Cruise.
- After 5 days, 3 sea days including sail away day, I said to my wife it feels like we've been on the ship for about 2 weeks already. Which is a good thing in a way when your vacation feels longer than it really is.
- the longer cruise is definitely more relaxing.
- then again we're very active people, with almost always looking for things to do and we found many times there were blocks of hours where there was just nothing to do as a family (2 adults, 18 boy, 14 girl)
- We had the absolute worst dinner server we have ever had on a Disney Cruise(Adrian from Jamaica). He basically ruined dining for us with his service which found us often waiting 20 minutes between courses. This was mainly due to the table of 18 next to us that he was also serving. It led us to skip 2 meals in the dining room because we didn't want to get held up. room service one night and ...
- Cabanas the other. I want to make note that dinner in Cabanas is fabulous. A great view view, very laid back, nice menu selection and great service.
-I did find by about day 4 I was getting tired of the same old food choices for breakfast and lunch from the buffets. We did a lunch at Royal Palace which was nice and helped alleviate some of this problem.
- Full ship, but never felt crowded at all. Didn't go near the pool, that's always a disaster, but never waited more than 10 minutes for the Aqua Duck.
- Saw Inside Out which had a few cute moments but otherwise was a snore-fest(I actually dozed off for a few minutes) and Tomorrowland which was actually much better than I expected.
- Stopped at St Maarten and St Thomas. My god, Nassau is a ghetto compared to these ports.
2 absolute Highlights
- Our stateroom host Ignatius. Wonderful service and a great personality. Was on top of everything.
- Voted by all of us for the favorite of the cruise, was Captain Bob's tour at St Maarten. We can't recommend it enough. We checked in and the water was rough so he was offering everyone a full refund if they didn't want to go out. We swam with sea turtles, went snorkeling at another reef, were treated to a great beach BBQ, drinks on the boat, and seeing some planes come in and depart at Maho aiport.
