Had a fantastic time!! This was our first "official" trip home as it was our first stay at a DVC property and our first after buying in December. We had to make the reservations somewhat last-minute, so ended up at OKW rather than our home(s) - BWV and VWL.
We enjoyed it even more than we anticipated! OKW is a fantastic resort and really not that far out of the way, especially if you have a car. We had a party of eight adults, in a two bedroom and a studio. Everyone raved about the accomodations! The two bedroom is absolutely HUGE! We were in building 62 on the second floor - it was perfect. Excellent location just across from the main building and we had a gorgeous view of the pond and fountain, plus one of the greens. We were up on the 2nd floor, so had a terrific view as well (room 6223 - dedicated 2 bedroom; and 6220 the studio - an end unit)
WDW was great as always. We had six adults to play tour guide for: two had never been to ANY Disney park, two had been to just Disneyland, and two had been to both but not to WDW in 20 years. SO it was quite the commando adventure to do it all in 3 1/2 days!! BUT, we got the highlights in and everyone had a great time. It was a bit crowded at MGM Saturday afternoon and at MK on Sunday evening. We spent Monday night at Epcot and it was just gorgeous - low crowds and a nice breeze. Tuesday was pretty empty at MGM as well. (We hit AK each morning for a few hours and left for another park as it got warmer.)
It was pretty hot for this time of year. Highs were in the 90s, but the humidity wasn't too terrible until Tuesday. It rained when we got in Friday night and then again as we were on the plane waiting to take off - it's like it held off just for us!
All in all a great trip. We were so impressed with OKW we're seriously considering switching a planned trip a year from October! DH and I are going for a week in a one bedroom at BWV, then MIL and two nephews are joining us for the second week. We were going to switch to a 2 bedroom at BWV but now we're thinking of moving entirely. MIL would really enjoy sitting on the porch and watching the scenery. We actually dug out the laptop while we were there to compare points... ACK!
Okay, shutting up for now. If anyone has any questions, just ask!
