We were down there last week. We spent the first 2 nights in a studio at WL then switched to a 1 br at OKW the rest of the week. Unfortunately it was chilly, highs were in the 50's on the days we were at WL. We didn't get to explore and swim the way we would have liked. WL is a beautiful resort but it must book up fast!!! We were just carrying our bags into the room and a family walked by and stopped to talk for a minute. They were OKW owners too, and had come over to try to see what the rooms looked like, but the front desk told them the resort was booked solid, so there were no rooms they could see. We told them they were welcome to see our studio, so at least they got to see that. We enjoyed dinner at Roaring Forks, everything was delicious.

The only downside, (and this is very personal preference) is that all the stone and timber at the resort made a cold day feel colder. However, I bet I would love all the cool stone in mid-July!!

We checked in at OKW. It was not as busy. We did get to go swimming and see the new pool slide. It goes faster than I expected! IT was fun and the kids were really enjoying it.

Everything looked good at both resorts. Lots of friendly CM's and good customer service. I'd be glad to answer any questions.

Glad you had a nice trip! Sorry to hear it was cold. That happened to us 2 Januaries ago when we all had that deep freeze it was cold there too! I've been wondering what the WLV looked like. I have ressies for SSR in July but keep wondering if I should change to WLV. Well, we'll eat at WCC so at least we'll see the resort. Welcome back!

:earsboy: We also love VWL, Kirsten, and you're right--the stone and timber does make it seem slightly cooler during the summer months. All of WL is lovely; they do a superb job of making you feel as if you're isolated from the grind of the parks while still being just a few moments away. We enjoy the Hidden Springs pool more than the geyser pool since it, too, is less crowded, more intimate. AP is a great place to eat, and though our experience at WCC was only so-so, we'll try it again this April on our next trip.

As for making ressies there, pbharris, give it a shot! See if they can switch you at this late date (given that July is a peak month). It's an impressive place with its decor, ambience, and architecture. As I mentioned, it doesn't have the charged atmosphere of some of the other resorts--such as BWV or BCV--but that's why we like it so much. After a full day of rubbing elbows with thousands of our closest friends, we enjoy kicking back in our rooms, pools, hot tubs, restaurants, and health club. Almost like a home away from home.

Wow! With an awesome description like that, how can I not try it out?! I'll be on the phone first thing in the a.m.! Thanks!
