Just back from OKW and loved it!!!!

Thanks for the review! We haven't stayed at OKW yet, but we are looking forward to it in the future. I read a great review of Olivia's on the restaurant boards recently. I want to go there for lunch on our next trip so I can see OKW up close!

Hi. Just got back last night from OKW and let me tell you we now love OKW!!!! I see what everyone loves about it.

My kids love AKV and were a little disappointed not to stay at AKV before we got there. Our room was awesome although not rehabed, the pool was a lot of fun, Olivias for breakfast was good. I have to rave about the buses - awesome. The CMs couldn't be any more helpful. Lots of Disney Magic there. All in all a great trip. We will definitely stay there again!!!!!

I was surprised about the Parks - probably due to the heat - were not as busy as I expected - we've never been in the summer before. We went to EMH at AK and MK and were able to ride all the rides we wanted to and then some.

I'll do a trip report sometime tomorrow while I get over my depression of being home and having to go to work tonight.

Shhhhh! OKW is the real "best kept secret".

I looked at the menus for lunch and Dinner at Olivia's while eating breakfast and it looked good. I wanted to eat there our last night but DS#1 had to eat at Jiko - lol but we'll definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at OKW a few times and really enjoyed it. I have never been to the main pool though. Is there a sandy place for kids to play? We are trying to decide where to stay next summer. We will be needing a 2 bdrm , bringing DD, DSIL, DGS (4) and DGD(18m). I have been playing around this morning trying to pull off a quick trip in Nov. for DH and I so using fewer points at OKW would help.

Next to the main pool there is a good sized sand play area and a small kiddie pool. It is great for wee ones.

On three different stays there, I have had only two "bus issues". Both on our most recent trip (2/09), both afternoon trips to MK, both took *more* than an hour from arriving at the bus stop until we arrived at the bus depot.

I'm not sure what was going on there---maybe reduced-frequency trips in the afternoon? Otherwise, it's always been fine.

We thought the main pool was awesome. Jean answered the sand question. We stayed in a 1Br and thought it was huge - you should like the 2br. Wish I could plan another quick trip there - lol.

I have to say that the buses surprised me the most d/t our bus problems at SSR. We had a great experience with the OKW buses.

We went home to OKW last January for the first time. After reading some of the posts on the boards we were very worried about our choice of resorts as a home. We decided to do a split stay and spend the second half of our trip at BLT. After we arrived at OKW and got familiar with the resort we wished we had stayed at OKW the entire time. This is the most relaxing and quiet place we have ever stayed on Disney property. The CMs are some of the friendliest and most helpful we have encountered. Our next trip in Jan 2011 will be spent entirely at OKW.We can not imagine staying anywhere else.
