Just back from my first trip to US/IOA, my thoughts

First of all, loved it! To any of you who saw my question about the private event at US at the same time as HHN, here's what happened. We entered US at 7 pm and had an almost empty park and when we finally looked at our map, were thrilled to see that Mummy was open to us. It turned out that we could enter HHN and go about as we wanted to. That could be a great benefit to people who wanted to go to IOA or HHN. Unfortunately, for us it meant mummy was open but had a two hour wait all night. Needless to say we did not do that. We did go to the deadtropolis, with my 9 yr old son. He was scared silly, but I was not impressed. It was fun, but not scary. We loved all of the rides at US and the next day went to IOA. Loved FOTL access, other than the fact that my son made me go on Dr. Doom 5 times. Too bad he was 1 inch too short for Hulk and DD, I was really looking forward to that. Oh well good excuse to return.

You son is at the perfect age for IOA. He'll grow into the park and have lots of fun.
Your key to fun is having some drinks while he's in the pool.
Right now, you're still watching him like a hawk, but eventually, he'll grow up and you can relax and have fun on your own. That's when you can have a couple drinks and enjoy the moment.
