Hi all!

We just spent a week at Walt Disney World, and I originally wanted to write about running, and training while on vacation, but I am injured ... so what's the next best thing next to exercise? Drinking beer!!

Walt Disney World has a great variety of beer if you look hard enough. I tried a different beer every day and wrote a little review in my blog.

I tried:
Samuel Adams Summer Ale (at T Rex)
Bohemia (at La Hacienda)
Anchor Steam (at California Grill)
The Orlando Brewery Organic Ales flight (at the Wave)
THE UNIBROUE FLIGHT (WOOOOW!!!) (at Le Cellier)
Bedele (at Jiko)
Birra Moretti La Rossa (at Tutto Italia)
Orange Blossom Pilsner (at Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Towers)

Have you tried these? (especially the Unibroues??) check out my reviews and pictures on my blog and share your thoughts!

Great post! Your blog is also a nice review. On my most recent trip, I tried several of those you mentioned. But alas, I didn't write anything down. I tried several at Jiko. I thought the Bedele too sweet, but really liked a different beer there. The moretti la rossa was one of my favorites. I look forward to trying the flight at Le Cellier.

thanks! i don't want to oversell or overhype the Unibroue, might not be for everyone but wow I really enjoyed the Unibroues I tried and really wish they would sell them elsewhere.

Most Excellent! I really enjoyed your reviews!

I will second the Unibroue flight at Le Cellier! It is wonderful! Another Unibroue beer that you might want to try (if you haven't already) is "Maudite" (French for "The Damned" because, according to my server, it is a Damned good beer!) I have found it a several specialty stores that sell imported beers and liquors. Most recently, I found it at World Market. They carry several of the Unibroue beers! :)

Can't wait to try the Bedele!

Best beer on Disney property...you can also get at the Brown Derby. Last year they also had an outside cart by Le Cellier during F&W festival with three beers on tap (fingers crossed for this year).

Didn't really like the Orlando brewing products...have never found an organic beer that works for me...seems like something is just missing.

I've had almost all of those before, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth another round:) Unibroues are terrific. I couldn't believe it when I saw them at home at the neighborhood Kroger store:cool2:

Thanks for the list:earsboy:

Would love to try the Unibroue flight this next trip. We aren't eating at Le Cellier. Does anyone know if there is a bar in Le Cellier where you could order this? We've eaten there, but I never noticed if there is a bar there.

That's a list of some of the better options. Others would be whatever they are serving in Germany at the time (not always stellar, but usually at least one good choice), and options available at some of the resorts including Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Abita Turbo Dog and Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA.

My husband enjoys the Casablanca beer at the Morrocan pavilion in Epcot and is always happy that in the UK pavillion they can adequately pour his Guinness. I'll let him know which ones were good for our trip in a month.

I recently downloaded the Beers and Ears app to my iPhone. You can locate beers anywhere in the "World".

Suprisingly it's not "that" hard to find, unless your at MK! Love beer!

Sad to hear of your injury but I see you've made the best of a bad situation and your diligence in researching your subject does not go un-noticed! :drinking1 :drinking1 :thumbsup2

Big River Grill has a nice selection of beers also (Rocket Red Ale)!

Kind of fond of the Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale at the Poly myself. :yay:

DFH 60 Minute? That's my favorite, every day, in the fridge beer! Never saw that, or even thought to ask for it, in Disney. You just made my day a little brighter... :cool1:

Yep. I've had it at Kona Cafe and the Wave and have seen it on the menu at some of the other resort restaurants/bars.

Thanks! I can't wait to go back and do a mini beer tour part II. or perhaps do it in my own hometown. :lmao:

I like rocket red ale a lot, didn't have it this trip though. I was half-expecting the Birra Moretti La Rossa to have at least some hint of rocket red, but rocket red ale was more "crisp" and "refreshing" if I remember correctly.

Oh yeah, and my wife found a supply of Unibroue at a local store and brought me home a La Fin du Monde! can't wait to try it ... although it's a 25oz bottle. want to share? :goodvibes

Unibroue Trois Pistoles is one of my favorite beers anywhere. Wish they would have a Unibroue kiosk in Epcot or build a new pavilion-Belgium! Most of the other beers found in WDW I can definitely do without. I don't like any Sam Adams(they all seem to have the same metallic "twang" to them:confused3). I am not a fan of lagers at all, but will drink a bock or something in the German pavilion and suffer in silence.:lmao: POFQ is acceptable because they have Abita on tap but I've not seen any DFH or other microbrews anywhere else.:confused3

Unibroue used to be at the Canada kiosk in EPCOT Center that sells popcorn. Now they just have Moosehead (blech) and some other garbage beer.

I feel that finding really good beer (heck, even finding above average beer) at WDW is like an adult Treasure Hunt. Obviously, MK has none. The trick is finding the hidden treasures everywhere else. And it constantly changes.

Widmer Drifter Pale Ale was at BWV last year. This year? Gone.
Did you like that beer you had at Germany last year? It's changed also.

But still fun!

Hopefully if the often rumoured but never off the ground hockey themed bar at the Canada pavilion ever gets a green light we could see some Unibroue in Epcot outside of Le Cellier someday. It does appear Disney is trying to add more bars at Epcot (Mexico, now Italy and the saki/beer booth at Japan recently).

DFH 60 minute is gone (probably due to supply contraints, they cannot meet anywhere near the demand for this beer) and replaced by SN Torpedo at any locale with the standard Disney drink book.

Poly has the Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale and the Kona Long Board Lager (I know you don't like lagers). I was heckbent on trying the lager, but could not force myself away from the Pale Ale. Something about the Pale and Red Ale's make me :woohoo::dance3::yay::cool1::thumbsup2:lmao: pirate:
