We just got back from a quick trip. We so enjoyed the Halloween Party Friday night. We walked on most of the rides. Are longest wait was for Dumbo. Pirates we rode twice without getting off. Wonderful oppourtunities for my girls to have their picture taken with characters. We really enjoyed the evening. Saturday was so crowed after the night before but we still we still enjoyed our visit to Studios. I highly recommend MNSSHP.

That's great to hear so thank you!! We're off to DLP on Weds and will be going to our first MNSSHP this Friday. Can't wait!!!

Have to agree, we were also at MNSSHP on Friday - loads of characters about all night, the shows were pretty good (the showtime one was very good indeed) and the lighting effects around the castle were fun. My DD got a bit scared going through the Frontierland entrance when they had the dry ice going, as there were scary jesters and monsters in there waiting to pounce (no, really there were). It was spookily atmospheric mwah ha ha ;). We rode BTM a few times, POTC a few too (in fact at one point there was an empty boat in front of us, no-one in our boat except us, and an empty boat behind us, it was like we had the whole ride to ourselves ). Peter Pan a couple of times, teacups and Dumbo in the dark (I love both those rides at night), and Pinocchio. The cars n stars was short but fun, and the meet n greets at the end was exhausting - we skipped after Clopin and Esmerelda from one side of Main St to the other :rotfl:!

We left DLP at noon on Saturday - I couldn't believe how busy it was!!!! Do people just queue all day for everything on Saturdays?

Glad to hear about MNSSHP as we have a first visit to this on 26th October.

If the park shuts at 7pm -how do they get the people out for an 8pm start.

Do the rides still operate between 7 and 8pm ?

Thanks

We'll also be there on the 26th. If it is like last year, the rides stop at 7 o'clock and anybody without a wristband has to leave. They did start up the rides again before 8 o'clock but you couldn't ride without a wristband. Also the bands were checked as you changed lands to stop anybody just staying back for a wander round and meet and greet.

Makes sense how to identify the ticket holders

Do you get the wrist bands on the night or before and where from ?

I was expecting tickets but I all I got was a letter confirming reservation and on the other side details of our names and MNSSHP.

Not used to booking with Disney as we have Dream AP's.

this week they didn't shut the rides which were staying open for mnsshp. We went back into the park after a break at about 6.20pm, and got our wristbands at the entrance to the park. If you had your wristband on you could go through the rope barriers with CMs into Fantasyland, Adventureland and Frontierland and ride the rides. At that time the CMs in the lands were ushering those without wristbands out of the lands, and by 7pm those without wristbands who were still on Main St were being asked to leave the park altogether. After about 8.30pm, no-one was checking for wristbands and there were no CM's/ropes at the entrances to the 3 open lands.

I was pleasantly surprised that so many food outlets stayed open during mnsshp - Plaza Gardens, Gibson Girl, Caseys, Last Chance cafe, and Chalet au Marionette. A couple of shops stayed open too :).

there are lots of places to get your wristbands from - you can collect them after 5pm in various places in the park. If you're coming through the turnstiles after 5pm, you show your mnsshp tickets/confirmation, and get your wristbands there.

I have a mnsshp programme - i'll photograph it and put it up as soon as I can, it has lots of information on it (you can get this from City Hall too).

i saw the jesters too elaine they frightened ash half to death. one of them was so nice and was trying to show ash he wasnt scary. he called her his princess and walked in front of us from phantom manor to the lucky nugget shooing people out of the way and shouting out of the way my princess needs some space everyone bow to my princess. didnt make ash like him anymore but i thought it was hilarious lol

Thanks for the info and replies.

Really looking forward to something we have never done before.

Not sure whether my silver skeletor mask and black hood might a bit too scary for some but at £5.00 in Tescos it seemed an excellent buy.

I have a victorian ghost maid outfit, liam is dressing up as the Phantom and Jamie has the V for Vendetta costume, Rob's going as himself aka Grumpy :)

Ooh, thanks for all the info guys! I'm really looking forward to going on Friday. Just wondering, are there fireworks and sweets like MNSSHP at WDW?

does anyone fancy a mini diser meet for a photo of us all dressed up? have spoke to a couple of ppl, but wud be rather fun if we cud arrange a time/place just to meet for a pic!

pm me or write on here :goodvibes

also - a quest on the party............. if ur an adult and dressing up - obviously, kids are fine dressed up at any time, but adults are different.... if the party starts at 8pm, does that mean u cant be in fancy dress until that time, or can u dress up from 7pm (when park closes) or earlier?? want to try and work out timing (lol) and also save havin to carry costume about lol

cant wait!!!

We were back in the park for MNSSHP by about 6.15, and there were adults dressed up for the party then :)

thanks elaine - did the park close at 7pm and party from 8pm??

am so looking forward to it - even more so knowing that the boys still dont know we are going!!!!! (altho am sure the oldest must have a suspicion as suitcases were in plain sight of him, but hes not mentioned it......)

am also lookin forward to seeing the parks at night all lit up!!

The park didn't close to MNSSHP guests at all - ie we went back in after a break at around 6.15pm, the park closed at 6pm officially on Friday, but obviously there were still a lot of non-party guests still on Main St at that time. By 7pm security and CMs were checking everyone for wristbands and making sure that those without were leaving the park. If you had a wristband you could go through to Fantasyland, Adventureland and Frontierland, where the MNSSHP rides were open to ride (ie they never closed those rides between park closing time and MNSSHP start time at 8pm).

Just after 8pm the characters appeared in Fantasyland (look near the rides - POTC, teacups, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Dumbo, and between Auberge de Cendrillon and the carousel - oh also IASW), I guess it would have been the same in Frontierland, just as you come through Fort Comstock, and over by Phantom Manor.
The shows started at 8.30 I think, and went on every half hour or so until 10.30pm. The characters were out most of that time too. Then it was the cars n stars Halloween parade at 11.15pm, followed by meet n greets down near the bandstand (we left at around 11.45 after meeting Esmerelda and Clopin, and there were still loads of folk in the parks gathering autographs and photos).

Apologies for butting in, question for Elaine, so did you get a voucher to exchange for a wristband and can you collect the wristband anytime ?
