We just got back from a wonderful stay at HH. This was our first trip "home". We went to VB and VWL before we went to our home resort. Anyway we booked a studio and when i opened the door it was a 1 bedroom! I could not believe it. We have been staying in studios to save points for the whole family in a grand villa next year. I did not even ask for an upgrade, but i did not complain. I did not know they could upgrade rooms. If it was a mistake, I am sorry for taking their room, but to let you know that we had a wonderful time in the 1 bd!.Now that i am spoiled with the 1-2 bd, I hope it won't be too hard to go back to a studio. The Island was great, the beach was great, and the rest. were great. I WILL NEVER AS LONG AS I LIVE EVER GO BACK TO MYRTLE BEACH!!!!!!!!! I hope

Hey Canda:

Glad you had such luck with the room and hope you had a great time. WOuld you please share some more about the activities in HH? I will be there next July and since it will be my first time, I would like to know more about surrounding areas, things to do, eateries, etc.

Ah. Also. What is Myrtle Beach?

Thanks.

Amen about Myrtle Beach. We went last year with DH on a business trip, just to tag along. I am so spoiled by HH! And by Disney!

As far as restaurants....We have enjoyed the Mexican restaurant across the way--San Miguel, also Scott's Fishmarket, and the Old Oyster Factory. DH loves the Hilton Head Diner for breakfast. And South Beach Cafe on Sea Pines is really good, too.
I did not care for the Kingfisher.

Our family has enjoyed the family activities at night--bingo, campfire, story time, etc. , as well as the Kid's night out. The dolphin cruise was tons of fun, though a bit expensive--about $100 for the four of us.

The grownups had fun at their wine tasting last time we went. Overall it's just a relaxing way to spend a vacation.

We were at HH last week. We got the two bedroom as expected for the 5 of us!
Son spent most of his time on the island - craabbing, fishing, and bike riding.
He did attend the campfires and two evening outs for kids.

The rest of the group spent a lot of time at the beach house: Reading, swimming, and relaxing. Son and I had planned to kayak but the two times we signed up it was cancelled due to the winds. Next trip ;) !

I did enjoy a bike ride to the Marriott Vacation Club. The ride back was alot longer since I was more tired and had to fight the wind!

I am in HH withdrawl now and spent time at our local water park yesterday and the neighborhood sports center pool today but miss the dolphins swimming by the deck as I driink coffee on the porch and the ocean view!!

Linda

Myrtle Beach is a vacation "resort" area in South Carolina on the Atlantic Ocean, north of Hilton Head. I've been there for a work conference, and would never go back, either.

My family and I spent a great week on HHI this past July. Some of the activities we enjoyed were renting bikes. You can rent them right at the resort but I would strongly recommend taking the 15 minute ride to South Beach and renting them there. Riding around Sea Pines is unbelievable! The bike trails are great and the views on the way to Harbor Town are super! The other activity we enjoyed was renting a boat for viewing dolphins. The best is at South Beach were you can rent a Zodiak with a driver who will take you VERY close to the dolphins. It's a great trip and you can enjoy an ice cream or lunch at the Salty Dog after the trip!

What a great island! This was our first, but not our last, trip.

Thanks Bostonfamily:

Any other ideas on activities in HH will be greatly appreciated. Never been there, but can't wait to go next year. It sounds like such a relaxing, beautiful place.

Where are you Canda?
