Hi All..! We just got home from 5 nights at SSR. I was so happy to not only hear "welcome home" at check in, but I was granted my request for The Grandstand! We had a dedicated two bedroom and it was heaven! I miss that bathtub already. One comment though....for all those who say its not too bad of a walk to DTD...LIARS! We walked from Congress Park one night and I was about to drop dead! I'm 6 months prego and it was just too much for me. We met some really nice members at High Rock Springs and enjoyed our conversations with them. We also did our first Welcome Home Wednesday and it was a blast!! :thumbsup2:):lovestruc:cheer2:

It's not uncommon to be very tired early in a pregnancy and combined with the heat and humidity I'm sure that walk seemed long!

But don't be deterred from that walk, everyone! It's approx. 15 minutes and not bad at all. I've always enjoyed it! And I'm no liar! :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed SSR.

I agree the walk to DTD isn't too bad, however, because of the August heat and being 6 months pregnant, I bet it seemed like a long trek for you. :flower3:

Yup..it was def. the combo of heat and pregnancy!

I forgot to add that we also toured the models of AKV and BLT! Wow! They are so nice!

We actually didn't take any pics of our own this trip. We just did some photopass so I have no pics to share of the resort, sorry.

Also, we tried the Quick Service dining and we liked it. Wolfgang Puck Express is the best place to use the credits near SSR! We ate there 3 times!

We just got back from Disney. During the portion of our stay that was at SSR, we stayed in in Grandstand 9330 (I think that was the number) It was one of the buildings beyond the pool area, across the parking lot.

As I was hanging out by the Grandstand pool, I thought to myself that it would have been better to be in one of the Grandstand buildings closer to the pool. Not only are those closer to the Grandstand pool, but they are also closer to the main building and the main pool. My building seemed like it was in a different, more distant, section and I didn't feel that I got all of the benefits people claim when they hype up the Grandstand.

Anyone have any insight on this? Am I right in thinking that the people who hype up the Grandstand are mainly talking about the buildings that border the pool?

Other than the bus stop, yes the two buildings are closer to the pool and the main building.

I have stayed in all 4 though and really did not feel like we were out of the loop by being in the other buildings.

If you have a car, I did not care for the building closest to the bus stop at all. There is very little parking in that section as there are more handicapped accessible rooms in that building than the other 3. Also more like to get a HA room there than other locations.
