Today was our last day at DLR. Sniff, sniff!! It was wonderful, as always. We spent Monday through today at the CCI. It was our first time there and it was great. It's not a deluxe hotel by any means. But, it is impeccably clean, with well maintained grounds and in an amazing location. I was in a wheelchair, nursing an ankle injury, but my DH and DS had no problem at all with the walk.
The free breakfast was plentiful and had more than enough options for a continental breakfast. The pool was clean and not overly crowded for our afternoon breaks.
The room was very small, but, I knew that going in. We were squeezed tight with all our luggage. But, that was mostly my fault since I packed way too much stuff. We checked into another hotel today in San Diego and I can definitely feel the difference size wise. That said, the CCI met all our needs and we hope to return again next summer.
DLR/DCA was crowded Wed. and Thurs. Mon. and Tues. seemed to be lighter. The weather was lovely, cool in the morning and evening warm in the afernoon.
Doing DLR in a wheelchair was quite an experience... more on that later. I'm off to explore San Diego.
