CSR is absolutely beautiful but wasn't my piece of cake. I enjoyed my stay at this resort but probably wouldn't go back again. To me this resort is too spread out. After walking for like 10 miles all day in the parks I don't want to walk another 5 miles (exaggerating here) to get something to eat. Check in went smooth but we were put in Ranchos 7B, way out in no-man's land. Pepper Market was just okay to me. For the prices they charge their quality of food should be better. And yes you can get cheaper food in the parks and that is what we did. I guess this resort isn't for everyone. I am not putting CSR down because it does have many good and strong points but isn't for me. I talked to several people and they said they prefer the values over CSR. Quite honestly I also prefer AS Sports over CSR anyday. There is something to be said about walking out your door and being in the food court within a short amount of time. But we should take on new things on life and this is why I chose to stay at CSR for the first time.

Thanks for the review. You right, it's tough for everyone to like the same thing. That's what's great about WDW, so many choices. Welcome back!

Thanks for the great feedback Buzz. Like I said "Different Strokes for different folks". I would never bash someone elses' favorite things at WDW. CSR just wasn't my thing.

That's one of the reasons I don't like when someone says to me, "I've chosen CSR because of you or your site" (not that you did that) because then I always feel responsible if they don't like the resort. You were one that seemed so excited to go to CSR I really wanted it to work for you but it's not always the case. But hey, you got to go to WDW and that in itself is great!

Welcome back lustergirl. I'm sorry you didn't like CSR. Ranchos 7b is pretty far from El Centro. :sad2:

How was the bus service? Did you enjoy the pool? Is the slide still open?

I hope other than CSR, the rest of your vacation was enjoyable.

Well, everybody has different likes/dislikes. I think being far away from all the important stuff would make me a bit unhappy, too. :(

We were also in Ranchos when we were there. It was the furthest one from the main building, but that wasn't a real problem for us, because we only went there once. At least we weren't too terribly far from the Dig Site Pool though. When we were at CBR we were very far from the main pool(Barbados) and therefore preferred our stay at CSR over CBR. Also the number of bus stops around the resort was a pain to us. I think where you are in relation to the amenities you most use really colors a persons experience of a resort a lot. Sorry your stay wasn't what you had hoped for.

Did you request any area before your trip? If so, what was your request? I have ressies at CSR in Feb. and I think after reading this that I should request, possibly Cabanas. I know it's no guarantee, but hopefully it would help. Like you, I wouldn't want to be in no-man's land after a long day in the parks. Sorry your stay was less than you hoped, but hope you had fun anyway!

BTW, was the new nightclub opened yet during your stay? That was my other concern, that a bar geared toward the business travelers might make them even more party monsters :dance3:

I believe that Rix opened this past weekend, according to a Dis'er.

I did request Cabana 9B but we arrived late, around 10pm. The CM that handled our check in was very nice and tried hard to get us closer but she couldn't. I guess there was several grand gatherings staying at CSR. My trip was beautiful. I didn't have a bad stay at CSR but it wasn't just my piece of cake. Like I said in my original post this resort is absolutely gorgeous but we were stuck way in the back. I will say that the bus system at CSR ran great- never had to wait very long for a bus to appear at bus stop #4. The slide was still open and we saw several young kids enjoying it. I will say that the mango margaritas are out of this world- ha!!
