Just back from CSR and GF

Just got back from a wonderful 6 days in the world. The decorations and Christmas spirit was amazing. We really love WDW this time of year.

We stayed our first 3 nights at CSR and loved it! I think it is my new fave moderate. We were in cabanas 9B, just a 5 minute walk to the El Centro and the Dig Site. We had a corner room over looking the lagoon which was really nice.

Moved to GF for our last 2 nights. Unfortunately our first impression was not a great one. We pulled up about noon on Sunday and the place was absolute chaos. There was a very large group waiting with all their luggage for the cruise line bus and the managers were trying to direct traffic. My DH had to suddenly stop twice for small children who dashed out in front of our car.
The lobby was also out of control with people and children running everywhere.

We were in Boca Chica, second floor overlooking the quite pool which was nice. We didn't opt for bell services since we only had a couple of bags and it was annoying to haul our luggage all the way through the lobby and the pool area.

All in all we enjoyed our stay at the GF but would probably not hurry back. For as much more as it was than WL or AKL we didn't think it was worth it. But I could certainly get used to the turndown service

Glad you liked CSR!!! We just returned from the WL and LOVED it!!! They do have turndown at AKL and WL. You just have to request it. We had it during our stay. It was very nice!!!!

I am staying at csr for the first time in january......I love cbr and we love love love wilderness lodge.....and poly...I didn't care for gf it was really noisey....I thought dixie landings didn't have good theming and I didn't like port orleans at all either...I also hated the contempory....they need to update that one. I hear the pool at csr is great I love the pictures I have seen.....can't wait...is the cabanans the ones like the shore of mexico? cannot wait

I agree with you CSR is my favorite moderate as well. I felt CB was way to crowded. Coronado had great grounds, great theme, and I was very comfortable there (I got strept throat while staying there and i was bed ridden for most my trip). Not to mention I never waited long for a bus to or from the resort. There were very long lines for CB!

I think i am staying at the GF in 04' - you really did not like it?

Nickunited~It's not that we didn't like GF, we just thought it was overrated and for the $$$ would prefer WL or BC next time. Everywhere we went in the hotel always seemed noisy and crowded (the lobby, Gasparilla etc)
