We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Contemporary!
It was our Disneymoon and it couldn't have been more wonderful.
Some highlights:
I had booked a standard garden view room but when we arrived at the room we were pleasantly surprised with a King Bed and a great view of the lake.
We received balloons and a signed card from Mickey and Minnie.
We attended one of the animation classes and the artists graciously gave us the drawing he had done, which looked much better than mine, DWs drawing was spot on.
We got in the front or our own row on nearly every ride we were on. The exception being Test Track because it was really really busy.
The congratulations we received from guests and CMs were awesome, it seems so simple but it makes it that much more special.
We got caught in a massive downpour and the staff at the Hollywood Brown Derby held our reservation well past the normal 20 minutes so we could dry off. We also received complimentary Champagne with dinner!
California grill was amazing as many have said, and watching Wishes from the roof put a great end to the trip.
We wore our ears the entire time - except to downtown Disney. We wore the Just Married buttons all the time.
Construction in the lobby began when we got there - the first day bell services was inside and the next it had been partitioned off. I didn't even notice it until DW pointed it out to me. No construction in that area could be heard during the day - they did it all later at night when almost no one was in the lobby (I was waiting for a pizza). The construction behind the resort only seemed noticeable visually, no noise. It's hard to hide 200 foot cranes
We both had a wonderful time, we did much more those are the things that stick out in my head. Feel free to ask any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I can't wait to go back, DW says in a few years with the kids we'll supposedly have by then.
