Just back from CS and it was amazing! It was definitely the best moderate I have been at or visited.

The Pepper Market had a wonderful selection and we actually ate there more than we had originally planned. It was nice to have a food court that was more than burgers and chicken strips. The food was cooked fresh and if you don't want to pay the gratuity you can just take it back to your room.

We rode the water mice on the lake . . . big mistake. It was my first time since riding the water sprites on the 7 seas lagoon and they were sooooo slow. I guess since the lake is so small they have to be kept to just a puttering speed. I rented one at the the Contemporary later on and they were turned up much faster - very fun.

We got our request in 9b cabanas. We had a water view upgrade, and El Centro and the main bus stop were steps away. MVMCP was awesome, transportation was the best ever, a completely successful trip. If anyone has any questions about the hotel, i would be happy to answer.

Welcome back :)
I love CSR as well. I too ate at the Pepper Market more than I thought I would. It was great to just go and mix and match dishes. The service was well worth the 10%. Did you happen to eat at Maya Grill for dinner? I had the breakfast buffet there and it was very good, however, I never had a chance for dinner.

Do you mind telling how much the water sprite rental was? I rented a water sprite at the Contemporary and I too was amazed at how fast they zipped around compared to those found on smaller resort lakes.

Glad to hear that you had a great time and enjoyed CSR. We can't wait to get back there.

Epcotfan...I finally added you as a link from my site too.

We are going in Jan and I am wondering how you requested. Did you fax or put it in the original reservation?

We are going without the kids for the first time and I would really love 9b water view.

Another question for the masses, are there Cabana king rooms with water views?

Thanks and happy holidays

Water Mice cost $22, $19 with DC discount. I made our room requests in the original reservation. WE didn't get the room till around 4 but we got the one we wanted.

We currently have ressies at the Poly but truth be told, don't think we can afford it this time...SO...I was considering a moderate. We've been to all the others but not Coronado. Our only deal is we'll have a 3 1/2 year old at the time and our reason for staying at the Poly was for monorail convenience BUT we always rent a car so relying on Disney Transport isn't a top priority. We just want what's easiest for all of us with a little child. (All of us being my mom who can't walk long distances so we'll have a handicap tag for easy parking, my hubby and I and our son. My Brother and new sister in low will probably be coming but I don't want to plan around the honeymooners)

If it's not too much trouble, tell me all you can about Coronado. What you liked. What things were like. ETC ETC. .;)

THANKS!!!!!

Stephanie,

You should really check out Buzz's site (linked above). It's one of the most thorough sites about CS that I've ever seen.

Given your circumstances, I would say you should definitely down-grade (if you want to call it that) to a moderate resort, and most particularly to CS. I've stayed at all the moderates, and CS is my favorite by far. With the handicap tags for your car, I don't think you'll have any troubles with transport to/from the parks and not much of an edge with the monorail.

You also can't beat the entertainment value of the pool/playground area at CS for a 3.5 year old. Don't be surprised if you have trouble getting her to the parks!! LOL

Have fun!!

BK

Thanks BK! Totally forgot about Buzz'z site.
You're right. Having the handicap tag for parking will get us close to virtually everything and make it easier for Nick and my mom. It was really them we wre most concerned about. I really wanted this to be so memorable fpr my mom as it's the first trip she's ever taken ON a PLANE ANYWHERE let alone WDW...which she's an even bigger Disney Nut than I am! I guess I've been so spoiled staying at Deluxes so much. We usually split our stays between them and moderates, which is how we've stayed at 7 resorts in only 3 trips. ;)

BUT... sigh

Thanks again!!!!!!
