Hi,
Just back from CS. If you have any questions let me know.
Here are my thoughts and comments.
This was the first time I stayed at a real disney resort. (Last year I stayed at downtown disney hilton.) I think CS is very pretty and I love the fact that the pools and jaccuzzi are open til midnight. The place is so huge! we had to get a lift from the bell service in a golf cart to our room. There are many pools, but one main one called "the dig site". That was very nice, it had a water slide.
I wasn't thrilled with the check in service I received. I don't know if the girl I got was new or in training, because she didn't explain anything clearly and didn't mention important things. They give a swipe card that doubles as your park ticket and room key. I specifically asked for my child key to be a room key also, and didn't find out til I got locked out that she did not make it a room key. She told us that our tix were ultimate hoppers for length of stay, but found out at disneyquest on our first day that it was NOT for length of stay but only our 2 main days.
So that was a bummer. I didn't care for the restaurants and the walk to get to them. My feet were already killing me and I wanted to save precious energy for the parks. oh well. It was still a nice place but I think next time I will try somewhere different.

Wow! our DS's keys always worked. Well, I LOVED CSR, but you wouldnt' want to stay there again until you've tried all the resorts, right?? That's the fun of staying on property!

Hi Tigger71!

Sorry to hear that CSR was not what you were expecting, and it sounds like check-in was a real mess for you. That would have gotten my vacation off on the wrong foot too! What section did you stay in? I'm thinking the Ranchos because of the far walk? We stayed at both the Casitas 2 and Ranchos 6B, and I did find the Rancho section to be a bit of a hike to the main building. Despite that though, we were very, very pleased with CSR. But again, sorry to hear it did not appeal to you. Welcome back

I would check on that ticket thing. the Ultimate tickets are supposed to be good from the time you check in until the time you check out. They can drop days, but it's not the normal thing. See if you can find out what you paid for!

I have never heard of an ultimate park hopper that was not good for your whole stay. It sounds like a mixup to me. You should call and ask about that. Welcome back!

I would also like to hear more about the problem with UHP's, if that's what you purchased. What is up with that, is this something else that has changed? I hope not or they can keep the UHP's because no one will be buying them!

You should try the Caribbean Beach next time because they have the same room rates and your child(ren) will love it!

I suggest you request a room in Jamaica bld. #45 because it's just a short walk over the bridge to the main pool and their food & shopping. Also each "island" (cluster of buildings) has their own quiet pool. I heard that it has the most rooms of all the resorts but it doesn't seem to be quite a hassle as CS.

You might want to try to get into Martinique 25 or 26 if you REALLY don't want to walk.

ENJOY

UPH's purchased in advance through WDTC or CRO and UPH's purchased as part of a package will all be for the entire length of stay. UPH's purchased at resort check-in can be had from as little as 2 days/1 night or can cover your entire stay.

Resorts have the freedom to adjust UPH's where WDTC/CRO doesn't. That's why you can have days dropped off for late arrivals or early departures only when you get the UPH at check-in.

I think that was the case here, It seemed like for the price it would have been a 2 day ulimate. At first that was the impression I had. But then she told me it was good for length of stay. I swear the girl who checked me in had no clue and just confused the heck out of me. She would say one thing and the then the opposite.
I will call resort maybe today and ask to speak with a manager and see what I can find out. I want to be sure I didn't get jipped.
