Well, I'm back. Even though it was hot, I wish I was still there.
I had a studio (#2036) at BWV. The room was in great condition, overlooking the Luna Park Pool. It was about 1/2 down the long hallway.
I like the new sofa beds. You don't even have to take the cushions off the sofa to open the bed. They fold and are stored underneath.
My niece loved Typhoon Lagoon
We got there shortly after early opening and and walked on Crush-n-Gusher and sharkn Reef (ok, my niece didn't like SR. She was scared
)
Loved Everest, the Safari and RnR!
We did the P&P Party Tuesday night. It was crowded. After the first few treasure stops, we skipped them (only so many beads and chocolate I could take). The fireworks were ok, but I like Wishes better. The parade was nice (we saw the 2nd one. Got to walk on Splash and BTMR during the 1st parade). They had a photo stop with Cinderella's carriage. And we got to take our pics with Capt. Jack Sparrow. We got in line at 6:30 and it was out the door. But they had already started moving and the line went pretty quick).
Since I was staying DVC, I purchased the dining plan. The table service places we ate at were:
Coral Reef. I had the lobster salad, which was good, but I think I was expecting bigger chunks of lobster. Came with a small cup of lobster bisque. Had the shrimp cocktail for an app.
Big River Grille. Restaurant is being renovated, so they are serving meals in atlantic Dance Hall. The food was okay, but I think the menu was somewhat limited (at least compared to the menu on allears.net) due to the location change.
Crystal Palace. Food was good. They had several types of salads, veggies, pasta and the carving table had turkey and prime rib. The pulled pork was excellent. Character interaction wasn't that great. They seemed rushed. We never did have Pooh come to the table. They were telling us it would take 90 minutes to have all 4 characters visit the table.
Princess Storybook Breakfast (at Restaurant Akershus). Very good. I really enjoyed the breakfast, served family style (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potato casserole, which was very good!) There is also a buffet with fruit and pastries. The princesses were great (and I'm not a princess kind of gal
). They took time to talk to the kids, but still moved around the room at a steady pace. We saw Belle (in her gold gown) when we entered. She's in an alcove where they take photos. Coming around to the tables were Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine and Mulan. We didn't get the photo of Belle (I took one with my camera). I thought it was a little pricey. $32 for an 8x10 and 4 5x7.
All in all we had a great trip
Now I have to check out the photos from Photopass. (I pre-ordered teh photo cd for $99. I think I have at least 50 photos on the cards. Plus I can add borders, etc. which will add more prints.)
I think I paid almost 50 dollars for three ride photos from Everest, RnR and Splash (but the facial expressions were priceless!). The biggest thing I liked about photopass was I didn't have to worry about getting the camera ready. I just let them take the shots.
Feel free to ask any questions (I'll try to answer them).
