Our family stayed for the first time in a 2 BDR and absolutely loved it (my wife and I brought our 8 mo. old daughter for her first WDW vacation and we needed the extra room). We were in room 5004/5006 and the only complaint I can think of was the incredibly long walk to the elevators. The room was very clean and had a great view of the Swalphin and MGM.

The staff was great, but there seemed to be a little confusion about the high speed interenet connections in the rooms. I called down before we left and they indicated that we would have a high speed connection, but when we arrived we were told that it wasn't ready yet and to keep checking. We called the front desk three times during our first few days there and they told us to come down to get the cables each time. However, when we would get to the front desk they would tell us it wasn't activated yet. On Wednesday they told us that the service wouldn't be activated until February 9th. This wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice if the staff knew what was really going on. I think they finished up wiring the hotel last week so it should be ready to go on the 9th (we saw them working on 5th floor everyday except for Friday).

We have really enjoy our Home resort VWL, but the BWV is tough to beat because you can get to Epcot and MGM so easily. Also there are a ton of resteraunts within walking distance.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Glad you enjoyed your trip! The high speed jacks were installed at OKW last month too, but not yet working when we left a week and a half ago. Did they say how much it would cost for members?

Thanks!!!

We had a preferred view. I might be wrong, but I think the only standard view at BWV now overlook the parking lot? I figured we would overlook the Boardwalk, but we still had a great view.

I only asked because we were there on the 12th and had room 4010 [ a couple doors down and one floor down from you] and it was a standard view one bedroom. We were directly across from the Swan and had a fabulous view of tower of terror.

Maybe the top floor is not standard view?

Sounds like you and your family had a great trip! Thank you for posting!:)

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Just got back also (:( back to freezing temps.) We were in room 3029 boardwalk view. Great weather except for last wednesday's temps of 58 and sunny. Better than back home. Had stayed the first 4 day's at OKW in a GV with 8 family members, then transfered over to our home resort :jumping1: I guess were just spoiled. OKW is nice but BWV in GREAT.

From reports coming back, it seems like sometimes they call this area standard and sometimes preferred. I always thought it was preferred and that standards faced the front drive. All 4 times I had a standard view we faced the front drive or pond.

Thanks all, and thanks Debbie for the info. I was beginning to wonder if I should call member services!!!

We usually head down in October, but we really enjoyed January. The crowds were very light and the weather was great (a little chilly a couple of days, but nothing like the snow and sub zero temps at home!).

I need to start planning our next trip. I can't wait to get back!

Huh. I know I was very surprised when I walked out of the elevators and walked left instead of right. I had a standard view studio in October that overlooked the valet area and we had a fabulous view of the Epcot fireworks. So when we started to walk left this past trip, I thought "where the heck did they put us??". But all was well, we were very happy with this view.

I think they should make a list of exactly which rooms are standard and which are preferred. Seems odd that they could just go back and forth between the two.

Anyway, thanks Debbie for the info ;)
