This is my first post so please be gentle. I just returned from a fabulous stay at BWI and the Dolphin and I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Check in at the boarwalk took forever but we had the most pleasant CM ever! She even checked to see if the room was too close to the elevators or was in a noisy area. I have stayed at BWI a few times but this was the nicest room I've ever had! It overlooked the courtyard area (the path to the quiet pool) and we had a perfect view of illuminations :hyper: We watched it from the balcony every night with our coffee from the bakery. I also spent a lot of time at the quiet pool since the big clown at Luna Park makes me nervous.

The staff at the dolphin was just as pleasant and we got another great room! I booked a standard room at the teacher's rate and got upgraded to a resort view. We could see the boardwalk, the swan, and the lake from our window. There was a covention going on but most of the resort was taken up by families. I spent a lot of time in the hamock on the beach or in my beloved heavenly bed :lovestruc I walked to epcot and MGM and the buses were running well, they didn't stop at the YC or BC. All in all I had an amazing time and I can't wait to go back!

Sounds to me like you really had a Magical Time. I just love reading HAPPY posts because we leave in 9 days.:D

How does the Boardwalk compare to the Dolphin? Is it worth the extra money? We've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin on the govt. discount and love it, but I've been tempted to try the Boardwalk, especially if I can rent points at the Villas.

Hi princess pooh :wave2:

Just wanted to say welcome!

I just got back from the Swan so we may have passed by each other around the resorts :) Isn't the Boardwalk bakery yummy? I enjoyed sitting outside it and watching the boats go by . . .

Glad you had a wonderful time!

MinnieFan4ever and LadyTrampScamp&Angel, thanks for the welcome. You made my day :D

Sherri, I couldn't get the teacher's discount for my first two nights so the BWI came out cheaper with an AP rate. I usually just stay in the cheapest epcot area resort I can find. I got lucky with a nice room at the boardwalk this time but I usually end up overlooking the parking lot. Both rooms were equally comfortable and convenient to get to. I guess I prefer the dolphin because I usually get upgraded and I never have to search for a chair at the pool. The Boardwalk is beautiful though and the CMs were wonderful so I don't think you'd regret staying there.

So glad you enjoyed your stay.:)
We are going the day after Thanksgiving, staying the first two nights at the Dolphin with an AP discount (black out dates for the rest of my stay) so we'll be moving over to the BWI WV for the next 7 nights (got that wonderful email discount).
You've got me very excited about my choices.:)

Congratulations on getting that elusive e-mail discount *Belle*:D

You're so lucky!!! I hope you have an amazing trip! :sunny:

Hi there! and welcome. I had just read about a major water pipe refitting supposedly occuring at the BWV (we are at the BWI in October). Did you see any refurbs going on while you were there?

THANKS PRINCESSPOOH

I have never recieved a postcard or e-mail before. I'm so greatful it was one I could use. We are getting excited about trying a new resort, never have stayed at the BWI.

Hi and Welcome! I would love to know about the Boardwalk! We've just rented points for a studio, boardwalk view the first week of Feb. What things should we not miss? We have 2 dd's 5 & 7. Did the clown scare you? I am worried my five year old won't like it. Any tips you can give me about getting around the resort and the transportation to other places would be great! Thanks for sharing!

Welcome to the DIS princess pooh! :jumping2: :flower1: :flower3: :teacher: :jumping2:

Glad to hear you had a great trip and that you love the BWI like us. It's our favorite!

*Belle* ~ You will love it there.

fam4jc ~ the clown slide never scared us. In all the time I have spent swimming and lounging there at the pool I can't recall anyone's kid getting frightened by it. It might be a little too high for a 5 yo, but you can judge that when you see it. Hope you have a great time!

Does anyone have any further information about the pipe refitting that is to take place at the Boardwalk Villas? I can't remember where I read about this, but it is a concern.

Mom_Rules I didn't see or hear any construction while I was there. The area I was in was extremely quiet except for the fireworks.

Aww, Fam4cj I'm so sorry I made you worry about the pool! I'm not crazy about clowns but that pool is so much FUN :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
The pool area looks like a circus and the slide looks like a wooden roller coaster. It's my favourite slide of all the resorts. I was just in the mood for the more subdued quiet pool for this trip.

I saw tons of kids having fun at the BW during my stay. There are carnival games on the boardwalk and a man plays music on a piano/bicycle. I saw lots of families renting surrey bikes or boats, and enjoying icecream on the boardwalk. My family rented a studio at BWV when it first opened and it was a great trip. I hope you and your family have a wonderful time :D

Thanks for the welcome ADisneygirl :wave2:
