and it is beautiful!!! We rented points from a DIS'er and the process could not have been easier. We rented a bay lake studio for our family of 4 (including magical express and the dining plan).

Here are some highlights:

1. On-line check-in: Very quick! We arrived about 11:00 am. Our room was not ready but we were given a number to call later in the day. Our packet and keys were all ready to go. We headed to MK and called about 2:30. Our room was ready, AND we received everything I had requested! We wanted a studio in the north tower, on a high floor, ending in an even number.

2. The Room: We were assigned room 8014. This is a handicap accessible room so we did not have the problem of the kitchen and bathroom sink being across from each other. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo as well as a separate accessible shower and a sink. The view was to die for!! We could see the castle and space mountain as well as Bay Lake. We could watch the fireworks from our room which was a great option on the nights we were tired and did not want to stay in the parks. We actually spent a fair amount of time on our balcony because the view is so amazing.

3. Location: Can't be beat. The walkway to MK is worth the money alone. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the CR tower to catch the monorail depending how fast we would walk and how long we had to wait for an elevator. It was a long walk to refill our mugs. For us, this was not a deal breaker.

4. Transportation: We used the walking path to MK many times as well as the monorail. However, switching monorail lines to get to Epcot was a pain, and would take longer than we expected. Catching a bus to another resort was very easy. We would walk to MK and jump on a resort bus there. This made it easy to get to our ADR's at other resorts. We did not like sharing buses with the other deluxes. It seemed to take a long time with all of the stops. Disney transportation has it's pros and cons no matter where you stay.

5. That Disney Feel: I know a lot of people think that BLT does not have that "Disney" feel. We felt like this was more Disney than some of the moderates we have stayed at. The view from the hallways and by the elevators is truly spectacular. How can you not feel like you are in Disney when you are looking at a castle waiting for an elevator. The artwork in the hallways was beautiful and I wish they sold prints of the art. Everywhere you look you see Disney - the monorail, the castle, space mountain, the GF, the CR tower, ferry boats, electric light parade, and on and on...

Overall the resort is gorgeous. We loved every minute of our stay there and hope to stay there again.

Sounds amazing! I would love to stay there someday....and hopefully will get the opportunity.

I'm happy to hear you had such a magical experience at BLT! :thumbsup2 :wizard: :cloud9:

so glad you enjoyed it.

definitely love BLT - it is my home resort.

would you consider doing a review over on the Disabilities board - last time looked the BLT had very limited information on the HC rooms.

Just returned also and it IS beautiful! Our 2-bedroom was on the 10th floor facing Bay Lake; room #8044 and we couldn't have asked for anything better. Our 7-member family never felt crowded and the views were awesome. We could see EPCOT; Tower of Terror; Expedition Everest; Downtown Disney; Wilderness Lodge; watch the boats on BL; the monorail; the sunrise...just a fabulous room. Will be posting pictures sometime this week. Highly recommend this resort! :worship: :tink:

Although I haven't stay at BLT I stay a lot at CR with a MK view. It is just amazing. I wished bacon, lettuce and tomato comes to mind every time I see BLT. princess::cloud9::thumbsup2:wizard:

I loved Bay Lake as well!! Glad you guys had a awesome time. I really would love to see pictures:thumbsup2

Curious about the size of the studio- did you feel your family of 4 had plenty of room in it?

We felt like there was plenty of room for a family of 4. Some days we did not even fold the sofa bed back in, and we still had room to walk around. I don't know if there was slightly more room because it was a handicap room.

I've never considered renting DVC points because I enjoy mousekeeping, but I'm curious how you were able to get tickets and dining if you rented from a Dis'er?

Thanks

Wow! Sounds really awesome! I would love to stay there one time myself! I'd love to see photos too!!

DVC members can add any of the dining options to their reservations. We are not required to purchase tickets. I assume the OP just purchased tickets when she checked in or bought prior to arrive.

When you rent points you need to let the owner know if you would like to purchase the dining plan. You pay OOP for dining when you check in. You are also allowed to use magic express when renting points. Again you need to let the owner know and they will contact Disney for you. We had no problem getting our ME tags or using the dining plan.

As far as tickets - I purchased our park hoppers from Undercover Tourist. As soon as we got to BLT and got our keys we headed over to the concierge desk and they added the park tickets to our keys. It was very easy. If you are thinking of renting points it is a great value.

We rented points for a Bay Lake View studio this past February and we loved it. We also had the member add the dining plan to our reservation. We had enough Disney Visa Reward Points to pay for our dining plan when we checked in :cool1:

We also bought our park hoppers through Undercover Tourist before we arrived and had them added to our KTTW cards.

The resort was beautiful and we loved our view of the castle and SM from our room and while waiting for the elevator.

We are going to BLT in 6 days. (Leaving in 5 :banana::banana::banana::banana:) I can't wait. We have never been in there but it is our home resort. Hoping to love it! DMIL is going with us this year. We have a dedicated two bedroom MK view. I know it is going to be spectacular! We purchased our tickets from UT as well. Now I know to go to the concierge desk after check in and have the tickets transferred to our KTTW cards.
I am sooooo excited!!!!!
