I am just back from enjoyed a quick trip to BCV. We arrived about 12:15pm and our "preassigned room" was ready. I had really wanted an Illuminations view so I asked to be switched. I was given a room number and show where it was on the map. It was very far from the elevator and I requested something closer so I was than given 269 (a Lockoff studio). It was very close to the far elevator. The room was very nice. I had at one point thought of changing my ressie because of all the negative BCV posts. I have to say, I found it to be great. Clean, friendly, etc.

We enjoyed SAB and found limited chair hogging.;) occuring. I was surprised though, we were never given (or asked for) a wrist band. I did see many others with them but am not sure where they hand them out. We entered from the outer path. I did ask a lifeguard where the lockers where and rented a tube. Nobody asked for my wristband, room key etc. We enjpyed some time there before the rain.

Cape May Cafe breakfast was lots of fun. My DD8 is now searching for characters dressed differently to get her picture with. (She loved the outfits there.) We also enjoyed some hidden mickey hunting.

Another thrill for my DD was meeting Art. She was a little disappointed (though we spent most of the plane ride preparing for the dissappointment) that he did not have the Minnie pin on his lanyard she had seen on TV.

Overall it was a great trip. I would have to think twice about this time of year again as it was hotter than I could ever imagine. The plus side was most rides had very short waits (8 min for GMR, 5 min for SM, 10 for Buzz, etc.), Splash Mountain was the only excpetion with a 45 minute wait. I'm really glad we didn't wait as after about 25 minutes, the skies open up:( We did also experience once or twice a day storms which did nothing to cool things down.

Feel free to ask questions,
Can't wait to go back

Thanks for the report! and Glad you and your family had a great trip. We stayed at BCV last Oct and really enjoyed. I liked being so close to Epcot.

Thanks for the report.

Arghhhhhhh.....I can't wait till we are there for our first BCV visit home.....counting down the days

We just did a "one nighter" at BCV and I have to say that I felt the most "at home" there out of BVC, BWV, Vero, and OKW. (those are the ones I have been to so far!) We were in studio 406.

As a side note:

We went there for the purpose of using SAB, but as another poster mentioned, someone "polluted" the pool and it was closed for the day. Bummer, huh?

Should I even call MS or the BCV and mention my disappointment, or just let it be? We took friends and it was pretty disappointing.

Any thoughts??

I would let it go. It isn't as if there is anything the the staff at BCV or SAB or MS could do about it. They acted appropriately by closing the pool for th 24 hours it takes to decontaminate it. This wasn't an issue of poor service or maintenance, but rather a guest-caused event that can happen at any pool. That said, I'm sure it was a disappointment - but at least you were in a place that has a lot of other alternatives for activity!

Hey all....we are going home to BCV for the first time next week....and it was mentioned that there had been negative posts about the BCV...what was the problem? Should we be concerned?
Thanks...
Tom

Art is the nicest person. When we were there in July, our son had his 10th birthday and asked Art to sign his autograph book. He wrote the longest, nicest greeting I've seen in a long time. He truly is a fine gentleman.

I think like all resorts, there seems to be periods of people having bad luck. There were a few posts about bugs, smokey rooms, etc. it was all resolved and there have definetly been a much, much, much larger percentage of positive posts

I am glad to hear that they closed the pool. That happened when we were there last summer and they only closed off a portion of the pool due to the "accident" and continued to let the rest of the pool be used. It was open next to the offending body of water.....I mean directly connecting to the offending body of water! :o

I did contact the Executive Office about a few things regarding the BC/YC after we were at home and happened to mention this. Glad to see they changed their policy regarding such accidents!
