I invited my parents (in their 70s) to join me at BCV for a week. We shared a studio, which worked out just fine. I took the sofa bed and they took the bed. We've traveled together numerous times over the years, and we've often shared close quarters. So we orchestrate that just fine. (However, next time I'm hoping to have the points to treat them to a nice long stay in a 1BR.
)
Art the greeter made quite a favorable impression on my dad when we walked through the lobby doors! My mom told my dad, "See honey? That would be a perfect job for you." My dad said, "Yeah, but I wouldn't look as good in the uniform as Art does." We checked in about 1:30 and were thrilled to find that we could get in our room right away.
We had #431 and loved the location! It was pretty close to the elevator and it was a dedicated studio (next to a cast member only room rather than a 1BR). So we had an extended balcony. The room overlooked the woodland area and had a great view of most of the Illuminations fireworks. The room was in good repair and it was nice and clean. In fact, a CM was just finishing cleaning the floor when we arrived.
Our only glitch was with trash and towel day. We got back to the room about 4:00 and the trash had been emptied but the towels hadn't been changed. I had even left a tip envelope prominently on the kitchenette counter and it wasn't taken. Weird. Well, I called to explain that our trash and towel service hadn't been completed and to ask for fresh towels. They said someone would be right up. By 5:00, nobody had come so I called again. By 5:45 nobody had still come and we wanted to go eat, so we left the room. While we were gone, someone brought in the towels but didn't take out the dirty ones.
Mildly irritating, but just a minor bump in the road during an otherwise terrific stay!
Construction is still going on at SAB and at the BCV gift shop. I enjoyed the quiet pool a couple of times rather than brave the crowded section of SAB that was open.
This was my parents' first time staying onsite and they were totally impressed with everything. They kept saying that they see why I love it so much. We had a great time!
