We are staying in Barcelona for 4 nights in July when we are doing the
dcl med cruise.
I am really looking forward to seeing the seragada familiar (sp?).
Looking forward to seeing your photos and let us know about any recommendations.
Hope you have a great time
There's loads to do in Barcelona, and it has an excellent metro system so if you want to go anywhere that isnt in walking distance, its only a 15 minute journey from the centre. Apart from the awe inspiring La Sagrada Familia and Nou Camp, there is a ton of other places that are worth visiting.
The Ramblas, Barcelona's liveliest street. Mime artists, street vendors, street cafes, etc. The Ramblas is the heart of old Barcelona.
As you walk from Placa Catalunya down the Ramblas towards the Port area, the maze of streets and alleyways on your left is the Gothic Quarter. This is my favourite place in Barcelona. Around every corner is a selection of beautiful restaurants, quaint shops, traditional cafes selling fresh seafood, and some of the churches and squares are great places for taking some time out and enjoying the people watching. Look out for the Placa Reial, just off the Ramblas and also Placa Jaume in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Both good places for relaxing in a cafe and taking a break. There is also a couple of night clubs in the Placa Reial. You could spend days wandering the Gothic Quarter, and wont mind a bit if you get a little lost
As you walk from Ramblas diagonally across Placa Catalunya to the right, you come to the Passeig de Gracia. This is a famous shopping street in Barcelona. As you walk up Passeig de Gracia you will notice several Gaudi buildings. They are very distinctive

The district to the right of Passeig de Gracia is called Gracia, and has many small squares and alleys that are definitely worth exploring.
Tibidabo should be visited as well, as you can see from the pics above
Also see Montjuic, the hill that lies to the south of Barcelona. Some of the Olympic games were held up here, and there is also the old fort from which the city has been bombed. The views of the harbour from here are great.
Another 'must see', but I think often rarely visited, is the Museum of Catalan History. It is close to the Barceloneta district in Barcelona's harbour area. There are 3 floors detailing the history of the region, and a beautiful restaurant on the 4th with nice views over the harbour.
Also, here is a link to an excellent website that gives great info and tips on everything to do with Barcelona. You will definitely enjoy your holiday alot more by having a look
