What an amazing trip! It was our first cruise and first time to Alaska. We've already decided if we ever cruise again, it will be with Disney.

If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to try to answer them. At least as far as our trip went.

Who was your captain and cruise director? Did Snow White make appearances?

I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your cruise.

MUN

was there a golden mickeys menu? or did the frozen theme replace that?

oh and also which excursions did you do?

thanks for sharing your stories!

Our Capitan was Fabian and our Cruise Director was Peter. I honestly never saw Fabian. But Peter was out and about mingling a lot.

No, snow white never made an appearance. It seemed to be mostly newer princesses. Elsa and Anna (ticketed), Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, and Rapunzel. I don't believe there was a Golden Mickey's menu. However, I could be wrong. It took me a couple nights to realize the menu was coordinated with that day's shows/parties.

Skagway - Liarsville Gold Panning
Juneau - Whale watching/Glacier tour
Ketchikan - Hummer tour

I have to add - the last night's show, Disney Dreams, was AMAZING. I couldn't stop smiling and I think I even cried of joy. It was just wonderful. The colors, the singing, the set, the actors, words couldn't describe it for me.

appreciate that.

was the whale watching/glacier tour thru DCL or a private company? we'll be going on one as well so i'm very interested in hearing about your experience.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and answering questions!

Regarding the ticketed meet and greets: Elsa/Anna, Princesses and Olaf, do they all take place on the same day? How many days do they have the ticketed meet and greets? I wonder if these are only on the first sea day or spread out on two days. TIA!

:thanks:

We went through DCL for Whale Watching. It was fine for us. There were a lot of people on the boat, but it wasn't overcrowded. There were seats inside with big windows. 3 levels and open deck viewing. We saw a LOT of whales (no orcas though) and sea lions.

Ticketed - We went straight to Guest Services upon embarkation and were able to get tickets for all 3. They were spread out over the week. I know Olaf was early in the week, but I'd have to find my ticket to be sure of the day. Else and Anna were at 9:15 on last sea day. Princesses were later that same day. I'm not sure if there were multiple events. We were not given time/day options. Guest Services just gave us tickets.

ETA: Olaf was on Tracy Arm day.

Leaving on Monday. Did you put everything back where it belongs?

Also, ya' need us to check at lost and found for anything when we get aboard?

Just wondering, did you have a verandah or an ocean view? Which would you recommend?

Was the Skagway the Disney Character panning? If so....how was it? Thank you for posting.

what day was the character breakfast ? and do you know if there was a princess tea offered?

Thanks for the information!! How cold was it on the ship during sea days and at night?

hahaha! Yes, we put everything back. I'm sure they got those icebergs back in place for the next trip :)

We had a verandah and I highly recommend it. I think i would feel very cooped up if we didn't have that. We spent a lot of time out there. And it was SO nice not to have to fight crowds for the views like Tracy Arm.

Liarsville on Skagway was the gold panning with characters. It was so/so. We enjoyed it, but the "gold panning" is a total set up (and they freely tell you that). They put on a little puppet show and do a couple songs. The "town" of liarsville is dressed to play the part. Then you go over to these troughs and they give you a pan already filled with dirt. You just dip it in the water and shake. They show you how. Chip, Dale, and Donald come around while you're doing that. At most we found a couple flakes the size of pepper.

Our character breakfast was Tuesday morning? But I know there were multiple days. I'm thinking 3 days for the 3 dining rotations? Our server told us every night what would be open for breakfast and what time. I remember him telling us that Parrot Cay wouldn't not be open because of another CB.

There was no princess tea.

I didn't think it was very cold at all. However, we are from Ohio and my husband and kids start wearing shorts when it warms up to 50, lol. We never wore anything more than a tshirt and sweatshirt on the "cold" days. But we did see lots of other folks wearing parkas and hats and gloves. When we talked to them they were always from warm weather climates.

Oh and I wanted to address the Pea Soup and BBQ that I'd read about on here. On Tracy Arm day the deck servers (the guys who walk around and offer drinks etc.) walked around with pea soup in bread bowls offering them to anyone. The BBQ was outside Beach Blanket on Tracy Arm Day.

Did they serve any other soup besides pea soup?

Hmm....wonder where they got that idea?
