Just Back from AKV

Thanks for the great trip report. My husband is interested in trying AKV for a couple of nights. I guess it will have to be sometime after December since we already have our ressies made for then.

I enjoyed your thorough report. I totally agree with #11 and #12!! We were there the same week, also saw people in the BW pool and we just figured the same thing as you. I was cold with my coat on!!
I also felt crowds didn't ease up until 1/7. We are getting really tired of going to WDW when the rest of the world is there....

Thank you for the report. I will be at the AKL Villas the first week of March (savanna view) and I can not wait!!! I have requested a view of the Arusha Savanna from either the Kudu Trail or the Zebra Trail.:cool1: I also can't wait to sample the wares at Boma and Jiko and experience the overall atmosphere.

But wait, I hope the view is not TOO great 'cause I would like to be able to leave the resort and see the rest of WDW.:rotfl2:

We visited AKL on 1/2 -- one of those FREEZING days -- to eat at Boma and shop. We got a kick out of seeing the pool completely still and empty, which is something I have never seen. The lobby was bustling and busy, I assume because it was too chilly for anyone to be outside. The flamingoes by the pool were animated and very noisy and we were surprised they could be outside in 40-degree weather but the CM said they were OK.

Can't wait for the new area to be done.

I understand the Arusha request but what is the "from either the Kudu Trail or the Zebra Trail" part? Please enlighten me. Thanks.
From someone who has never been there and just looking at a diagram: The Kudo Trail and the Zebra Trail are fancy names for the corridors on all floors that radiate from the base (which would be the atrium lobby). These are where you will find the rooms.:dance3:
