Just got back a couple of hours ago. We had a standard room booked, but were upgraded to savannah view, Kudu Trail, Room 4263. The 5th floor was closed--only sign of that was the black curtains you can see from the lobby. I believe the 6th may have been closed---not sure though as it wasn't blocked off with the curtains.
We saw many animals from our balcony. We've stayed at AKL 2 other times, and I rate this stay as comfortable and relaxing as any other time we've been there. The staff was great as usual, bus service was better than the last time we were there. Food was great.
We slept in because we were doing EMH at night. We did not hear any noises in our room, or in the corridors leading to our room from construction. On weekdays, you could hear some noises once you got into the lobby---they were not overwhelming and in no way lessened our enjoyment of our trip.
I don't know what the next few months may hold, but last week, was excellent. If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer.
